Yes. He smooth ducked the **** out of Ward. Canelo has had the khan fight to prepare for but he somehow has been ducking ggg? Was it a gimme fight for Canelo, sure. But so was wade and every other opponent they've dragged up or found at the Home Depot looking for work. (minus a couple descent fighters)I don't get it
Canelo is the one refusing to fight him on the normal weight title which he holds yet ggg is the one ducking?
I'm not either guys fan but it's clear canelo is using the pacman/floyd strategy in waiting till their main competitor declines before he fights them
It is confusing though.
Asking for a catchweight when your the biggest money maker in boxing (currently) from the most feared man in boxing is not a duck. It's posturing trying to gain any sort of advantage when you know it's a suicide mission.
Asking Ward for a catchweight when this would be your biggest payday to date was definitely a way out of the fight.Comment

But we're talking about a guy who wants all the middleweight belts. He has the IBF, WBA and IBO belts and is targeting the WBO/WBC champs. It's up to Canelo to either vacate or fight at a proper divisional weight class.
What should GGG do? Move up to 168 and fight who exactly? DeGale/Jack is happening next and the only other name in the division is Groves who doesn't have a title and has an upcoming fight. Everyone else is still building their careers.Comment

I dont think that a bigger ring or softer gloves would necessarily benefit Canelo as:Obviously different strategies for different fighters, right? Khans known as a very good boxer I think Canelo wanted to prove he could out box him. Even though Canelo wa getting worked over he was cutting down the ring and forcing khan to fight straight in and out, no angles. Then he got his distance, I knew that right was coming over the top since the fourth round when he practically started hitting him in the back with it. I was telling my son that he was gonna get khan blocking the body and come over the top. I would say that Canelo chose not to impose his size. But damn, that KO was brutal. All in all Canelo out boxed khan while losing every round (if that makes sense) he wouldn't fight a big puncher like that.
If I was Canelo I'd demand a 24x24 foot ring and not those little 18x18s that ggg uses. As well as the softest gloves he could find. Because other than being the mandatory, ggg has no say. **** it, put him in a pink tutu that says "I heart Canelo"
I'm thinking that GBP was trying to put this off as long as they could too. But I'm thinking Canelo told them to make this ****in fight happen now! HBO and team ggg totally disrespected him tonight IMO.
Honestly, I think Canelo doesn't lose nothing with a loss to ggg. Like I said, I think he could successfully run through 168 and not truly be tested until 175. No shame in losing to somebody that could pull that off right?
On the flip side ggg has nothing to gain other than a belt he should already have had and a payday.
I always lol at ggg saying Canelo is a business man first like he's willing to take a risk. It's all business when your not fighting for pride.
This is directed to all the ggg towel boys out there, not necessarily you.
a. he doesnt have great foot movement so a bigger ring would be of questionable value as he is no Lara; and
b. he needs to get GGG to respect his power to keep him away
As I hope that I have made clear, I'm not completely sold on GGG but Canelo needs to play to his strengths i.e. short accurate punches made in the trenches
Run and he will be walked down
Big gloves and GGG walks through him
Anyway, unlike some, I reckon a defeat really hurts Canelo as he is not a big guy for a MW and is going to be up against it physically sooner rather than later at that weight (Hearns vs Duran springs to mind)
These are his prime years and a big defeat could cost him enormouslyComment

Irrelevant now as Canelo has declared that he is happy to fight at 160But we're talking about a guy who wants all the middleweight belts. He has the IBF, WBA and IBO belts and is targeting the WBO/WBC champs. It's up to Canelo to either vacate or fight at a proper divisional weight class.

I think you mean why can't Canelo step up?Khan grabbed his balls and stepped up...why can't GGG?
GGG is the 160 lbs Champion! He fights at 160 Lbs!
I like Canelo and was rooting for him tonight! Although until Khan was knocked the **** out I thought he was winning!
GGG is bigger and faster! Imagine if Khan had GGG's power?
Saul is not ready! JMHO!Comment

I have no doubt Canelo would back a 160 fight...but his team may not.
The guy does want to create a legacy but I think the wrong people are advising him...they need some of them on Khans team lolComment
