    Just odd to me.
Need no improvement. Needs better judges.

Haha, yeah Cotto is just way past his prime, he couldn't beat a legit 154 pounder, let alone a guy that weighs 175 on fight night like Canelo. He is basically a lazy welterweight fighting at 155.

Why? The fight wasn't really all that close (competitive, yes, close, no.) and nothing would change in a second fight

Such a BS fight but I guess the fight makes sense financially.

It still blows my mind how some people claim Cotto wasn't competitive. What fight were they watching? I saw Cotto win handily, and even if you buy into the "Canelo's punches count quadruple because he looks bigger" narrative, there's no way around accepting it was a competitive fight.

Considering the Canelo - GGG possibility, I think the media and fans saw what they wanted to see that night. They thought Canelo winning was what was best for boxing, because GoldenBoy would be saved.

Now that Canelo showed his true colors, the outrage is understandable. But all of you should've declared the rightful winner in the first place. It's very karma-esque.

If this is true. This why he should have conceded to Canelo's demands. You beat Canelo
get a rematch on your terms and make more money. If no immediate rematch
wait him out. He will grow into 160 soon. lil g could've use that as his last big money fight and retired. lil g made all the wrong moves.

What? Cotto, who ducked GGG for Canelo, and Canelo who ducked GGG for Cotto? You're saying GGG lacks balls in this scenario when he was literally handed a belt so that Canelo wouldn't have to fight him? How can the delusion be this distorted; how can the cognitive dissonance be so real?

What? GGG was literally handed a belt, and now just needs to get the last one off BJS before unified undisputed MW champ of the world, the first since Hopkins.

As you say, Canelo will soon grow into 160, and then he will have to face the undisputed MW champ of the world to try and get any belt...

Cotto didn't duck GGG; he wanted to make 30 million versus Canelo. Who would, in their right mind, give up fame and fortune for a fighter who, even now, is mostly known to hardcore fans only? What, so he could make a zillion times less versus GGG? C'mon.

I'll agree on that Canelo is ducking GGG, but that's only because this is the biggest fight to make and where the most money is, now. There is no way around that. But Cotto vs GGG was not the biggest fight in boxing at the end of last year, Cotto vs Canelo was.

And, btw, Cotto said he would be available for GGG after defeating Canelo, which I suspect would have only had the possible stumbling blocks of bigger fights in a Mayweather or Canelo rematch (if the fight had been competitive enough).

That just wasn't ducking. Cotto may not have had the fight the hardcore fans wanted to see, but he fought the fight the majority of fans, overall, desired. He was giving the people what they want, unlike Canelo's current predicament.

Nevertheless, no one really believed Cotto, which also confuses me, because he has the best resume in boxing. And, now, they're stuck with Canelo, who is seemingly going back on what he promised everyone.

                    Karma-esque.
