Nah be can't. But for the right price he will. Because he's a business man.

Only two people know the answer to this. GGG and UnAbel Sanchez. Both have said recently that he can make 154. So yes, he can make 154 "comfortably", then he can make 155 no problem.

You know Golovkin's forum nutritionists and fitness coaches aren't going to like this

          Define 'healthy'?

I think there are a couple of points to consider.

Golovkin seems to make 160 relatively comfortably. At the very least there doesn't seem to be any evidence that it's a struggle for him. In that case it seems likely that he can physically get down to 155.

But the difference between Golovkin and Canelo is that Canelo knows what that process is like. He knows how his body responds, he knows how to minimise the adverse affects, and he knows how he'll feel in a fight after that cut.

Golovkin doesn't know any of that. Which is why 155 is a big advantage for Canelo, despite them being roughly similar in size.

No, it's all talk, he would have to cut off a leg to make 155.

Like I posted a while back, the fight makes more sense next year. Canelo relinquishes the paper chip so the babies won't cry anymore, he gets a few tune-ups at 160 (like Ward is doing now at 175) to acclimate his body to 160 and then we have a fair and even fight on both sides so there won't be a need for a catchweight.

Wasn't this the same guy who said anyone from 154-168?

Why should we trust him now?

He didn't seem SUPER confident in that response to me. "I believe he can make 154". And when you know Abel is 2nd only to Freddie in outlandish comments & claims by boxing trainers he might as well said "idk, maybe" or "I hope so".

To me the bottom line is he hasn't made 155 in a long ass time & I think they have very little baseline to work from with the trouble that getting off those 5 extra lbs to truly know that GGG can make 155 & be healthy/not drained.

He himself says he can make 154 for Mayweather. He is an intelligent professional fighter and should know what weight he can make and still fight well. He is not a dummy like Dawson who said he would be ok at 168 but was very weak at that weight. He won't go an ounce below 160 for Canelo and he shouldn't be expected to. Canelo either agrees to fight him at 160 or GGG is the new WBC middleweight champ. Being the unified 160 pound champion is his goal with or without fighting Canelo. After he becomes WBC middleweight champ fighting Canelo isn't important to him anymore. He will fight Canelo on his terms or not at all. Canelo would be his biggest money fight but he can make damn good money fighting other good fighters besides Canelo.

canelo can barely make 155 healthy.......golovkin has no history of fighting at 158 let alone 155. he's always fought at 160. but i don't hate canelo for the catchweight because golovkin tried to do the exact same thing to ward. screaming for ward to come to 164 (everyone has so gladly forgotten that) yes golovkin won't be his best at 155 and probably even a little drained (but stop taking step aside money. stop sucking up to team canelo thinking u will one day get 160 and take the offer at 155) if you suck a** long enough you're gonna end up choking on ****.
