If this is the case he will be wanting HBO to force a big fight by throwing money at Canelo or somebody else -- froch or something. He'll be wanting at least a 10 to 15 million dollar pay day in the next year.

If he is or even if his contract is near up he should be looking to cash in, he is no spring chicken so he needs to get whatever while the getting is good. If HBO continues to jerk him around with the middleweight title fights that he has needed for years, then Golovkin needs this leverage to get what he wants.

He would be in a very good spot and would be wise to shop around because that will only drive his price up no matter what he decides to do.

i doubt HBO would ever let another K2 fighter on their channel again if they took golovkin away from them after all they've invested in him

Sam Watson actually said he was one of GGG's "best friends" in a pre-fight interview I saw.

Of course, he also said Wade would win the fight, so you might want to take some of this with a grain of salt.

It probably doesn't mean much. Or maybe they hang out. Who knows?

Sure, Broner sucks but Broner is a bigger draw than Bumlovkin and a Mayweather Broner PPV does much bigger numbers than a Mayweather Bumlovkin PPV.

Hell, the Mayweather Broner weigh in would sell more PPVs than Mayweather Bumlovkin. LOL...

Why would GGG jump ship to a failing PBC and showtime who nobody even watches their fights...

They'd have to pay him twice what he gets for his HBO fights to lure him over there... Not happening...

How's that happening? They just aired him vs a bum nobody ever heard of and he made $2 million for it.they went to Monte Carlo where there were only 700 people in the crowd and aired that fight as well.. HBO has been more than good to GGG and his team... HBO can't make other fighters get in the ring with GGG, that's beyond their abilities...

He shouldn't jump ship by signing a contract with the other side, but he shouldn't resign with HBO and limit his options either. Be a free agent and play both sides. He can do a ppv vs Chavez Jr and Danny Jacobs and DeGale/Jack on Showtime, go back and fight Canelo on HBO.

Kovalev ****ed up signing a contract with HBO, it cost him the Stevenson fight. Top fighters should stay free agents. It's actually paying off for Provodnikov, and not being tied to HBO is what allowed Lomachenko to knock off Russell, otherwise imagine the trash we'd have to listen to about how Russell would beat Lomo.
