Comments Thread For: Hunter: Khan Winning is No Upset, Canelo is NOT Very Good

VIRGIL HUNTER reckons Amir Khan beating Saul Alvarez would not even be an upset. And the British fighter's trainer taunted the Mexican by claiming he is not as good as everyone believes as he stoked the fire ahead of tomorrow night's clash.

As soon as canelita lands a semi hard left hook this fight is over. My money is staying in my pockets, I refuse to be a canela khan job victim.

khan is fackin rubbish, he cant take a clean shot and thats it. dont forget, the joke coach roach was gonna pull his 8itch out in the 10th against maidana because he was getting battered...3 weight divisions up from there and khans got a chin or stamina at this weight?? with canelo pounding on the pressure in the championship rounds?? aw cmon......

That's why you initially told Khan not to take the fight?

Virgil trained Ward since he was like 9 or something like that.

We dont need to start the GGG/Ward/Canelo ducking debate......I think he was just saying that to put down Hunter m9re than anything. Ward is not overated. GGG probably is a little but Ward is at 175 now so whatever.

Khan is more over rated than all of them, including Canelo. I would like to see GGG fight Ward but him moving up made it even more unlikely, maybe in the future I hope.

Canelo v GGG needs to happen first. After all, they both are holding a belt in the same division and are both bigger draws/names than Ward IMO. Plus the fans do and should want it.

This is a really bad comment to make for several reasons, all around, win or lose. You say this to get a fight, not when a fight is signed.

                    1. Khan is the underdog, so he's the underdog against a not so good fighter. If he loses he lost to a not so good boxer according to his trainer. Which makes Khan mediocre at best. Which would actually be pretty accurate since we already saw his mediocrity versus Algieri and Diaz, and DSG and Peterson before that.
                    2. Canelo is actually an excellent boxer, so the comment is false. He maintained a high level of boxing in defeating Trout, Cotto and Lara. Regardless if anyone thought he lost to Lara, truth is the fight was very close anyway, not a schooling like people thought was gonna happen. He maintained a 50-50 fight with a standout amateur, and a guy who was favored to win Gold at the Olympics if he had gone.
                    3. If Khan wins, you already diminished the win by saying he's not very good.
