He probably said the same thing about Soto Karass when he fought Berto

He was yawning so hard his beret almost fell off during the ring intros for that fight

Yes Canelo is in many ways 'not that good' Hunter is right there but if Khan were to win it's silly for him to say it wouldn't be an upset as Khan himself is not that good. For Khan to struggle with the likes of Algieri the way he did speaks volumes .Chris was coming off a six knock down lost and lost every round of the fight and Chris has just been annihilated in five by a prospect.Wasn't that the fight where both Khan and Hunter were saying it would be his showcase fight?.....it was!

We have heard it all before from these two , as limited as Canelo is in some departments when Canelo starts landing which may take a few rounds as Khan will be running and holding as much as he can , the end will come. Amir Khan will have no answer and then the usual excuses will arrive .

Canelo should have limited weak chinned Khan out of there around the halfway mark, Khan will put up as good as he can but as always at any decent level Khan gets ****** out.

With the exception of having a tremendous talent in Andre Ward, what has Hunter done?

Sitting in the corner between rounds whispering 'motivational quotes' into your fighters ear is not a great trainer. Last time one of his fighters fought Canelo his corner advice was 'I can't sit and watch you take a beating, do something!' - hardly a tactical master.

Well according to Khan he loves being the underdog, is "going to make history", is giong to be pound for pound #1, and shock the world, etc...etc...etc...all from this fight.

Then his trainer says that? Kinda wierd how much these guys talk and talk and talk. Thats how Khan "earned" a shot at Canelo.

Not buying. No thanks. I can wait a week.

Canelo is NOT just the bigger man, he can also box. Like Hunter said Mayweather made it look easy because of who he is, Khan on the other hand has the tool but he is ******ed mentally in terms of ring generalship. He would start off fast with quick combos, he would fall in love with his own work then BOOM walk into something, Mayweather processes everything quicker than anyone else, thats why he could see Canelo right hand 10 mins before canelo himself throws it.

But in boxing nothing surprises me anymore.

Nelo is considered by many a tep ten PFP fighter now. Khan whoi isn't, and is two divisions smaller means it will be a great win for khan

Virgil is right. Canelo is not very good.

He is a manufactured superstar with a resume on paper that looks good.

Got outclassed by Floyd, got arguably a draw against Lara who himself lost all his big fights.

Other than that Austin Trout, who is kinda meh, and then very old kinda shot smaller fighters like Mosley and Cotto.

Canelo never faced a legit middleweight yet even though he himself on fight night is a Light Heavyweight.

Khan isn't very good either, he is like the #7 Welterweight which is 2 divisions lower than MW.

If Canelo was very good he wouldnt even fight Khan.

                  Size matters.

Interesting so Canelo refused the rehydration clause. I was under the assumption that the clause was never requested by Khan's team. It goes to show how much of a flat-track bully Canelo really is, and how he needs to have so many advantages stacked up in his favour before taking fights.

Canelo may not be great, but he has definitely improved in recent fights. Has Khan? That's the bigger question, not the comments Hunter leaves with this particular interview. Khan has a big mountain to climb, but in a way so does Canelo. We've seen how he was baffled by Floydie, how Eddy his trainer had zero clues of how to adjust, how bad his gameplan was overall, actually thinking he'd out-box Floydie. And now he's in with an even faster boxer, who, unless Khan gets caught, could potentially speed his way to a UD win. I think Canelo can catch Khan at some point, but Khan could upset Canelo with the perfect fight.
