The shift in popularity can only go so far because at least for the forseeable future boxing will have the black and hispanic markets while I don't think UFC will tap into those anytime soon.

I dont like it, mainly because I can't appreciate the technical aspect of it because 95% of the time they end up on the floor, and to me it just seems boring.

im not a real fan of either but if I was to watch one of them, it would be Pride. IMO PRide is leaps and bounds above ufc.

first of all pride has a ring. secondly the combatants in pride are better fighters. I've actually seen some decent fights on Pride. One of recent memory was when this cat Gomi knocked out a former UFC champion, at his own game. Jens Pulver, who is a better boxer than anything, got tagged by Gomi's right uppercut, who decided to box with the pugilist. It was an interesting fight. (no groundwork though, either)

            I like Pride way better...
Many times that i watch , the fighters seem content to stand and trade punchs. there are some take downs of course, but it seem like the fighter like to strike way more than UFC.

pride is the ****! i love it every time i watch it im totally into it ...dont know any of the fighters because im a boxing fan but its still entertaining at 3 am when nothing else is on

as for ufc ...back when it was guys like oleg taktarov , tank abbot, dan severn, paul varlens, keith hackney,
guys like that and it was every man for themselves no weight classes THATS when it was fun and good because any time you could see for instance a 5'11 keith hackny go up agianst a 600 pound monster in yarbarough
