Simple, hes an Olympic medal winner. Hell even nowadays just being on the Olympic team creates a lot of hype without accomplishing much. Its created a huge sense of entitlement amongst the new generation.
Why is Lara so overrated on here?

Lara is a damn good fighter. His problem is he does'nt have a second gear, a plan B, and he relies on his left hand too much. He does the same thing over and over no matter how a fight is going. If the guy would just let his hands go more, he would be a real problem.Seriously the guy has not done anything worth the hype..who is his best win?? Trout?..Yes you can say he was robbed against Paul Williams ok cool...but on the biggest stage against Canelo he layed a huge stinking turd...The guy is limited and far from what i would call slick, slick fighters dont get dropped 2 times by a shot slow ass Angulo.
Lara has never impressed me and i dont get why people want to see him get his **** pushed in by GGG. Its a pointless fight against someone who doesnt even fight at 160. So why all the hype over this guy?Comment

He's a step below elite level but he is a very good world level fighter imo.
I agree that he isnt slick though. His defence is mostly based on footwork and shelling up, he doesnt really slip, slide and roll punches while in range like a slick fighter does.
Not many I would pick to beat him at JWW, which is a pretty good division with some of the best young talent in boxingComment
