My thinking is that Cotto's own defensive movements kind of played to his disadvantage here. I cannot see how anyone would think he was hurt in any other way. He simply wasn't.

What is clear is that Cotto out-boxed him. So, if we're honest about judging here, the decision should be easy. One guy lands, the other doesn't. Any other conclusion is simply a claim that someone personally feels that Canelo was somehow doing something. But that's the equivalent to a person saying they saw a ghost. There's no evidence behind it.

i saw most of cottos punches being blocked and slipped, that made the difference on this fight, not the size...

That makes no sense. Canelo has no reach advantage over Golovkin and Golovkin has an excellent jab. He's also slightly taller.

Canelo's reach isn't neutralising anything in that fight.

I saw it the other way around. And that's fine, if we disagree on it. But, look at the disparity there between thrown jabs and landed jabs. If we go by that, we can come to the conclusion that Cotto's jab was largely ineffective. Did you feel it was ineffective? Whether or not you feel Canelo won, do you feel Cotto's jab was literally hitting air 85.56% of the time?

            C'mon--no way.

No and just NO....you can't say he outboxed him, when you are eating uppercuts all night.

ohh right, Cotto on his toes all night is outboxing someone?...he was the lighter man, what did you expect? is obvious that he had the speed advantage...but he couldn't use it effectively.

So stop with the outboxing sh.it....the fight was a close fight...but a clear 7-5 to Canelo...many had it 8-4(myself)....those 9-3 are nuts...but is clear that Canelo won..

I don't know how you had it 8-4, but I've explained how I saw the fight.

not only i saw canelo slipping and blocking the jab but also countering, even roach at some point told cotto about that lazy jab ... not sure if 85 % , but 80% doesnt sound far from reallity .. but jab wasnt the only deciding factor on the fight, we all know that cottos power punches are decisive in his fights and in this one he was clearly outworked in that area... but like you said its your opiion and i respect it, there is more fans like you that share your opinion, but that doesnt make this fight controversial or a robbery ...

Im 100% Papi Boricua, and I think Canelo schooled our Cotto. Just let it go. Canelo won.
