Peterson is useless, drug cheat, with no experience at 147 and damn sure doesn't deserve a shot at the title.

Vargas is the best of the options available, has a title and has fought at the weight. Also he is still young and fresh unlike Peterson.

Neither fight is a big summer fight, but Vargas brings much more to the table, as in rewards.

I really want Brook to fight someone decent...but there really aren't that many options atm. Hearn has been wasting time for so long and now when he absolutely NEEDS to deliver he hasnt got many options....

Vargas unification seems like the best fight at the moment, and thats literally only cos hes got a title. Its still a pretty crap fight.
