Peterson's resume is light-years better than Brook's, 140 pounders or not. He basically has the size of a welter, and would have a 5 inch reach advantage. I don't know why people are crapping on that fight, Peterson's debatably better than anyone on Brook's resume because Peterson is IMO more skilled than Porter. Not saying he'd win, but he's worlds better than Jo Jo Dan. But Brook vs Bradley is what I'd truly prefer.

Would you rather 5 more Gavin & Dan's, or a rematch with Porter..
I'd rather see Brook face another top guy rather than Porter and rather than any of the bums he's been facing.
But saying Porter is better now - I'm just speculating where the evidence is?

IMO the problem lies in that Brook is not as close to Elite as he (or many Brits) thinks he is. He beat Porter, but Porter is just a guy really. Peterson is a good challenger but Brook wants that elite level fight. IMO he's using Peterson's name as a bargaining chip for the lesser Vargas. He knows he wants the belt to validate his elite status and if he has belts champs will have to fight him in theory.
