That's because most top guys don't want to fight GGG duh. Canelo probably not scared but not exactly keen to fight him. If you're the middleweight champion of the world, you fight at 160 lbs, not this catchweight rubbish.

Message to GGG from B-Hop:
Hopkins believes that if Golovkin truly wants to mix it up with Alvarez as much as has been suggested, he’d monitor his diet and training regimen in such a way that he could and would get down to the 155-pound catch weight that Canelo demanded, and is getting, for his May 9 defense against Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) at the new T-Mobile Center in Vegas...
“There will be a dialogue, a negotiation, and when it happens `Triple G’ won’t be operating from a position of strength. Look, I can remember when I couldn’t get the fights I wanted for a lot of reasons. Some of it was political. Some of it was personal. When push comes to shove, though, you do what you have to do.
“When I was the (light heavyweight) champion, I had to take off five pounds to make the Winky Wright fight, the Kelly Pavlik fight. I had a catch weight fight with Oscar when I had three middleweight championship belts and Bob Arum (then De La Hoya’s promoter) said the only way that fight would ever happen is if I agreed to come in at no more than 158 pounds. I could have *****ed and hollered about sweating off the extra weight, but I wanted the fight to happen. Was the money great? Yes. But I wanted to fight the best, and if I beat Oscar, God only knows what could happen after that. And, well, we know now what happened next.”
I think K2 should concede to a catch-weight, but @ 157 and not 155! GGG needs this fight ASAP!Comment

He should fight Golovkin.....
But, Canelo knows that Golovkin pulled that catchweight bull**** on Ward..... and Canelo also knows that Golovkin tried to justify that catchweight bull**** on Ward by stating that he is the A-side.
So, Canelo figures that.....
1) I am the A-side
2) Team Golovkin use those very same negotiating tactics themselves
3) Everyone else uses catchweights..... Pacquiao used them in more than half-a-dozen fights, Cotto, even Mayweather, etc.....
4) Golovkin is an experienced middleweight, I am not an experienced middleweight..... and Golovkin has been publicly stating for years that he can beat anyone at 154.
I don't know if you could call that rationale justified, that likely depends which camp you support..... but it is somewhat understandable, especially considering the fact that Golovkin is such a beast at 160.
But regardless as to how loudly they cry, Team Golovkin understand perfectly..... because they did the exact same thing to Ward.Comment

Reason is: GGG more feared than Canelo. That's why. Proof: your fighter is also scared of him. Case closed.Comment

Reynoso sounds like a walking contradiction. On one hand, he says Golovkin hasnt fought anyone and Canelo has all the tools to win. Then he says it will be a tough tough fight. He goes on to say Canelo (the middleweight champ) has beaten everyone in his division (middleweight??), but doesn't want to give Golovkin "the advantage" of the designated weight class limit.
One can only hope that the WBC will stand by its word and either enforce the mandatory, or strip Canelo of Golovkins beltComment
