Ward offered Golovkin a for sure chance at a career-defining fight, and he turned ***** on national TV.

I'd be more than happy to put up some money, I'm just not sure how you'd actually pay me my money; neither guy, I don't think, is afraid of the fight, but the simple logic says that K2 sees the fight as a far less sensible fight than DiBella Entertainment/Haymon does, prompting them to walk away when the talks break down and things head towards bids.

    What's the wager?
So he should have jumped 2 weight classes to fight ward at a CW of 172( because ward himself said he can't make 168 anymore but you fanboys seem to forget that)?
If GGG were to beat ward or give him a tough fight which he will hen for sure no one especially Can'tNelo will figh him then.
Can'tNelo is scared to death now imagine if GGG were to beat ward who the fawk would fight him then!

NSB be trolls be scared about the 15th day announcement after the Khan bout... as if the non obligated to Loeffler's cheap tactics have any leverage over the voluntary vs Khan.

Easy Money! Lil'G and Wade went clubbing after the bout..

lol, nice try with that red herring.

The rumored terms were simple; Ward fought Paul Smith, both guys would take an interim fight before fighting next.

If you honestly think that Ward, after being 172 with three weeks to the fight, wasn't going to fight at 168, you played yourself.

Truth is Can'tNelo is holding the belt hostage because he knows he gets murked by GGG.
My issue is wtf? Why not fight GGG and get your azz handed to you go back to the drawing board and fight him again in a year or two? Why is he so scared of losing again?!
mw has a limit of 160 not 155... and yes he should drop the belt if he isnt willing to defend it at MW(160), again there is a ton of fighters from jmw that have also fought CWs above 154 most of them higher than 155, but no one considers them MWs, now canelo holds the title, he should drop it or defend it at MW(160)..

... Canelo may drop the WBC belt, but The Ring will allow him to keep the 'lineal'...

canelo droping the title will be the right thing if he isnt willing to fight at 160, but i dont think is going to happen, that will be the wbc's decision and is hard to tell what they will do...
about the ring title you wouldnt expect oscar to strip canelo... i agree with you...

you are speculating on that neither guy (Canelo or Cotto) were going to fight GGG... that being said hindsight is 20/20. Either way you can see that Canelo vs GGG is the most talked about fight in boxing right now so even if the fight isn't happening yet it is gaining steam... Also Canelo fans (or people) are shaming Canelo for avoiding the fight... don't believe me check his facebook, twitter, instagram... that's a fact. Even if the fight doesn't happen, GGG is getting more notrious because of this BS. Did i want the Ward fight to happen? Yes... is it time to move on? yes...

as far as money... well internet is one thing where bets for actual money become ****** (when its peer to peer). i'd gladly put real money but i don't trust you and i am sure you don't trust me... its the internet, would be ****** to to think otherwise. Lets do something simple, i'll take all your points and you will put in your signature that GGG proved you wrong and you are now a fan (even if you aren't) and if i am wrong i'll do the opposite and give you 3 times your points and write GGG fooled us yet again (or something along those lines... i'll let you pick the script).

The conditions are that WBA has to go through and make this a mandatory fight. 2) GGG doesn't get the Canelo or BJS fights.

i am 100% confident if anyone backs out it wouldn't be team GGG.

                do we have a deal?

Alvarez has been fighting 153-155 for almost 5 years now; he won't be able to keep making that cut forever, but he makes it fine now.

By the time he sees his 27th birthday, Alvarez will be fully ensconced as a 160lb fighter. if you can't wait that long, tough luck.
My concern about this situation is that it might catch up to him. If he can't make 154, that exptra pond of cussion will become 2 sooner or later. The problem with this is he could find that out on the ring. If this situation happens to materialize with a good opponent, well, things could go wrong quick.

I don't think the heat on Canelo is anywhere near as significant as folks here want to believe it to be, especially if Alvarez-Khan is a big PPV event, with another big PPV event lined up for September (Pacquiao at a catchweight, Marquez at a catchweight, Cotto II, and Mayweather II all being options).

Beyond that, what are the points on this site even worth, lol? Going from talking about laying out legit money to making what amounts to, in my opinion, a gentleman's bet is of no interest to me. Getting triple of something that seems to have no value, and getting someone I've never met to write something in their blurb is extremely low stakes, tbh.

I don't think it's that he can't make 154; he simply understands that he's a big enough star at this point that he can have the luxury of having that extra pound of food kept on him.

Still, the notion that he may only find out that his body can't make the cut anymore in the ring (no different than Danny Garcia finding out against Mauricio Herrera that he time at 140 was up) is a real risk, and a risk that his camp is openly taking.

Alvarez only being 25, he's still likely got some time (I doubt that he's going to be fighting below 160lbs by the time he turns 27); with Canelo's camp on top of the matchmaking, and Canelo proving to be a good fighter in his own right, it's not like he'll ever show up and get washed by a guy, imo.
