I try to steer clear of isolation exercises full stop. The body isn't meant to work except in synergy, and no single isolation movement is going to hit that area with the same intensity as a heavier compound. I think isolations have a place in bodybuilding only as a sort of polishing movement, to bring up weak or lagging parts, but I would never, ever use them as part of my core program.
