Yeah because moving up to 168 and beating Zurdo will surely convince Canelo to fight him at 160. He's already terrified of leaving 155 pounds!

There already is huge demand for Canelo to fight Golovkin next. He gets asked about Golovkin in every single interview, everywhere Canelo goes it's Golovkin this Golovkin that, people barely ask him about Khan it's always "after Khan, are you fighting Golovkin?!". Golovkin is mandatory and the WBC has stated he will be stripped if he doesn't fight him. How much more pressure can be placed on the ginger?

we all know, nobody is in a rush to get in the ring with GGG and his power seems to be unreal, but there have been fighters who fight champion after champion n got criticized did you all really think GGG wouldn't get any criticism for his fights? Nobody is hating on him its just the way the cookie crumbles, its really more aimed at the fanatics who constantly call out n criticized fighters for doing far against better comp. hopefully he will get a big name in the future id love to see him fight Jacobs.

What did GGG lose by stepping aside? Cotto was NEVER going to fight him and I don't blame him. So, GGG stepped aside, gave Canelo a chance to take the belt, and took Lemieux's IBF title instead. Is that not unification? Canelo wins the WBC belt and wants an interim bout...GGG agrees, can't secure a fight with Saunders for the WBO belt, and consequently takes care of the mando he inherited with the IBF belt he just won so he won't lose it. Is that not unification? Now Canelo gets 2 weeks after the Kahn fight to decide whether he fights GGG or hands him the WBC belt. Either way, is that not unification? If Canelo vacates, GGG's team is looking at WBO champ Saunders first, then Jacobs who is essentially GGG's WBA mando. Is that not unification? This is not hard to understand. You need to get your nose checked. I smell COMMON SENSE.

Why does he need to be a mandatory? Top fighters one division apart have taken each other on throughout boxing history.

Canelo is not fighting GGG right now so the Canelo vs GGG argument is mute in relation to Lara.

Financials, contracts, etc are all negotiable and to rely on them as an excuse to not even try is transparent. A lot of "impossible" fights are being made (including Canelo/Kahn) because guys actually TRIED to make them happen. team GGG is making no effort, not because they can't make the fight, or because there is no money, or even because Lara isn't a threat.
It's because there is a danger in fighting a guy like Lara (ask Canelo) and they do not want to take the risk.

It's pathetic because GGG is good enough to take fights like this. Sadly, the only bravado coming from that whole team is just talk. I'm not bashing him as a fighter. I really like him as a fighter and want to see more than this garbage career path.

                I
One of many good posts you've made in this thread. It's very apparent why people are trying so hard to discredit this fight. I can't get my mind around people who want their fave guy to take easy fights. Imagine if GGG was ****ing down Adonnis Stevenson's door and Stevenson wouldn't even respond. People here would go APE SHYT. Ape-fking-shyt!
You go on and on about Lara.... Lara could be fighting the Charlos,JRock,or any other 154 pounder worth something or even Jacobs at 160.. Yet he is not... Stop crying about guys not even in his weight when he has 2 champions openly ducking him at 160....

Let us know when Lara actually wins a fking fight anyone cares about or when he goes to 160.. Until then nobody gives a fk about him...I didn't see him at GGG press conference the way he was at Canelo's trying to get the fight... Be uses his manager sent out a tweet guys like you got all wet in the panties...

He doesn't have to, it's just one way to force a fight you're chasing, see Ggg getting that Wbc mando spot. Of course it's easier contacting the other guys promoter first, Lara should try that first, wonder why it's taking years to make that call

Not to mention Angulo was well past his prime by the time Lara struggled with him. Remember, Cintron beat Angulo back in 2009 and Kirkland demolished him a few fights before Lara fought him. Back when Cintron fought him Angulo was slow but by the time Kirkland got to him he was so slow that he appeared to be fighting under water, haha. Lara should have gotten a loss in his fight with Carlos Molina. That was a robbery.

Don't forget Angulo was in ICE detention for like a year. He's looked like **** ever since his release, remember he looked like **** going life and death with Silva
