Canelo offered up the catchweight offer. As for McGregor, I like the guy but fighting at 170 was not an advantage for either him or Nate. They agreed to the 170 pound weight limit because Nate didn't have enough time to cut the weight. Nate was drinking Margaritas in Mexico a week before the fight and had no training camp and still beat Conor. Now Conor wants a rematch at the same weight because his ego got bruised.

Oh yeah, and way to spin Roy Jones words LOL

Lol you can literally make excuses for any fight ever, it's ridiculous.
Was Leonard green when Duran beat him?? 24 and only pro 4 years?? Canelo was pro for 8 years

Was Benitiez green when Leonard beat him?? he was 21 and pro 6 years

these are great wins on their resume but we wanna call Canelo green? and Mosley was 38 right?? but we refuse to gove Floyd credit for being on top at 38...see the double standards here?

At the time Floyd fought Canelo, he was 22 going on 23 with a record of 42-0-1 and had been a professional 8 years. If you have done anything in your life for 8 years absolutely no one would call that being "green". Canelo had also competed in two divisions and was the WBC light middleweight champion.

No one discredits Duran's win over Leonard because Leonard was 23 years old and only fought pro for 4 years. No one makes excuses for Tyson for losing to Douglas at 23 years old while being pro for five years. So why make excuses for Canelo who had been a professional for EIGHT years by calling him green?
This logic is even worse considering the fact that Mayweather was pushing 40 and had been a semi active fighter himself when he beat Canelo.

Just admit Mayweather is a better fighter than Canelo ever could be.

That's because SRL turned out to be an ATG

That's how it is in boxing

Thomas Hearns was 22 when SRL beat him in 81

the same people tried to say 28 year old Hopkins, with over 90 amatuer fights, and more pro fights than Jones, was green. Even though Hopkins had just as many amatuer fights and a couple more pro

smh....people like that try to discredit fighters they dont like,.....oh well....Canelo was far from green with that much experience.

Also you made a good example.....was Hearns green when Leonard beat him just to add to your point.

I doubt anyone thought that canelo was an unstoppable monster. People probably felt that after taking Guerrero as an opponent, floyd wasn't really challenging himself anymore...so moving up to face canelo seemed like a stretch. Canelo is a decent fighter, but it's hard to proclaim someone an unstoppable monster when they struggle with the likes of alfonso gomez. Canelo may become a great fighter at some point...but it hasn't happened yet, and that has to be taken into consideration when talking about floyds win over him.

It is hilarious how people say Durans win over Leonard was PRIME leonard and one of the best wins in history...then call Canelo Green..how in the hell does that work?

Canelo had 6 title defenses and was a unified champion holding the WBC,WBA and Ring title...but he was green...BUT BEFORE THE FIGHT IT WAS "FLOYD WILL NEVER FIGHT CANELO"
