What are the chances of them actually stripping Canelo? I will believe it when I see it. But if they do strip Canelo, then what? The public will still want to see GGG vs Canelo. The way to get these 2 to fight is from public pressure. Not the belts. The belts are useless.

Although you never know, Canelo & Golovkin could end up splitting two fights and then have a 3rd in a rubber match. We can hope right?Last edited by doninlouisiana; 04-27-2016, 03:47 PM.Comment

I'll believe it when I see it WBC....
I see Canelo and Pac fighting for WBC MW title next. Hefty pay day for the WBC when that bout takes place for sure. If that fight doesn't happen which is unlikely then maybe then they will. Plus the step aside money GGG would get for not fighting and letting Pac/Canelo fight happen would be his biggest payday w/o ever even throwing a punch. I'm sure GGG will be a little more patient then and go fight someone else in the interim.Comment

I'm glad to see this.
Marinating is BS, period.
Canelo has a chance, but a slim one and DLH knows GGG can very well knock him out and the cards won't matter. As good as Khan can be, the fight should be close if it comes down to a decision and Canelo can still get the nod, if he doesn't knock Khan out which is very likely. It's win/win.
But Golovkin, whatever you think of his opposition, has bone crunching power and is dangerous from first bell to last. For a guy like Canelo who doesn't move a lot, this is a big concern.
Either way, take the fight or hand that belt over. I hope the WBC sticks to this.Comment

... he may "marinate" as long as he wants to, but without that belt... they have a mandatory fight to comply with -- take the fight or give up the belt now... Oscar may come back in 1-2 years and call out GGG.Comment
