Sergey Kovalev never missed a momemt to make his audience believe he wants to unify all 4 major belts, but it seems like Duva & Klimas didn't find any opponent to persuade top Russia promoter Ryabinsky, thus Adonis Stevenson is still the WBC champion, still available and almost 40, not to mention Al Haymon recently loss Wilder's purse bid to Andrei Ryabinsky.

Kathy Duva already rejected the 3 last WBC purse bid, rejected the joint PPV idea; but clearly specified since August 2015 if the Kovalev/Stevenson fight is held in Russia, they will be in a position to bid. Not to mention Kovalev still hold that WBC Diamond belt.

Thus according to her words, now is it not the right time to bid?

i don't get it. he didn't step out of his contract. he isn't fighting on fox or showtime he is fighting in russia and hbo is exploring ways to televise it. hbo only has a budget for two of his fights and this is a way to add a third just like ggg fighting in Monte Carlo. not sure how someone says he stepping out

A better question would be .. why did Stevenson insist that a fight between he and Kovalev had to be screened on Showtime, when he doesn't have a contract with Showtime and is free to fight on any network he wants?

Because Duva was apparently talking about the two fighters splitting at least $10m, though only willing to guarantee both fighters a combined $3m, and no one in their right mind believes that fight could deliver that on just HBO (insisting that the fight not be at the Bell Centre in Montreal, while talking up hypothetical fight locations in Vegas or New York (venues where neither fighter has shown any drawing ability), didn't help the number's projections either).

Put the location of the fight wherever things would sell the best, and having both networks leveraging their audiences to juice the fight, would've given them a pretty good shot at getting to Duva's faulty projection.

If Duva really did believe what she was projecting, she would've guaranteed Stevenson $3m for the fight (with Stevenson's camp getting in on the upide when the event netted over $7m) and just staged the fight.

You haven't seen this persons history I assume. All this person talks about is Stevenson vs Kovalev & obviously is strongly on the Adonis side. I think this might be a girlfriend or something.
