Sounds good, but when you drop 400k from your previous worst featuring Figueroa Demarco, that's a terrible sign.

Really? Who else is putting 20,000 in MSG for a fking boxing match?

Bute was the biggest name in the weight class from 2009-2011. He was headlining HBO and Showtime cards. He was selling out the Bell Centre in Montreal and putting up huge gate numbers.

That was a money fight for Ward and he let Froch take the glory.

Then Froch offered Ward a rematch in England and Ward also declined that!

So we have a guy in Ward who keeps declining big opportunities in very winnable fights.
Don't forget Stevenson, Ward passed on that also. Said he needs to do more, then went looking for Rohan Murdock and Zac Dunne

When we all know heavyweight fighters get the most love out of all of the weight classes.
Boxing is boxing. Naz got love for being a ko artist just like Tyson did. Now its Golovkins turn. Accept it or comtinue to be bothered. I don't care, the boxing world has embraced him.

With the TV ratings basically being the same, and Ward's profile in the sport ****ting on Golovkin's profile in the sport, the split was just fine.
GGG sells more tickets, gets more viewers and his " profile" is bigger..you're confusing profile with resume..no casual on earth could tell you 2 guys Ward beat...they don't know Dawson or Kessler..maybe Froch. So all those good wins years ago basically mean nothing today as far as drawing power.

Everyone already knows Canelo is the A side..he will get the A side money but he's not getting no 155lb weight for a WBC middleweight title fight vs GGG..

                  • The budget for this card was 3 million $. That's because GGG is a hot ticket. They make millions at the gate. If u generate a live gate close to 3 million $ the HBO money is the icing on the cake. GGG will fight Jacobs by the end of the year and HBO will sell that fight like crazy. Imagine a 24/7 with Jacob's comeback from cancer story and GGG walking down the mean streets of Karaganda showing the places he fought grown men at age 11. I see 400.000 buys easily. Canelita Duckvarez can fight Chris Algieri in the meantime.
