Basically he's just hijacked a title...strung the boxing world along, golovkins now knocking at his door furiously for payment of rent and canelo throws the keys out the window and speaks in broken English ....I not want live here I go live in smaller house.... U have to be a complete a mug to even support this fighter for his contempt for a world title and the divisions in which so many great champions have fought for....ok so now he has to give up the belt and lose that extra 1lb go back down to jnr middleweight and stay he f@ck where he is.....

Absolute shocking for a boxer to act this way, Roberto Duran would spit in his eye for behaving like this.

ITs hard to defend this BS.ITs not a GGG/Canelo bs war. The things him and is team being saying is just bad. People want to call out team GGG but team Canelo are as bad right now. At this point, at least GGG wants the fight.

This, I get some fresh memories from the Angulo fight:

"Canelo weighed in at 155 lbs last Friday night and had the weight limit for his junior middleweight fight moved to middleweight at 155. For the secondary weigh-in, which was requested by team Angulo, Canelo weighed 166 lbs [super middleweight] at 3:00 p.m. PT last Saturday. He then re-hydrated up an incredible 8 lbs to come into the fight at 174 against Angulo. "

I gonna tell you something, I have had few amateur fights here in Europe when I was 18-19 years old(I'm now 31).

So I have been making weight, I could rehydrate at best 6-7 lbs eating almost nothing the day before then running to lose some sweat (never did that much by the way).

I just DON'T UNDERSTAND how you can lose then rehydrate 20 lbs in 24H and being competitive for 36 minutes in a such violent and intense sport like boxing.
Are those guys being blood drained?

        Can somebody please enlight me?

Is a Jr middleweight, but hasn't fought at 154 or below since 2013. Is a Jr middleweight, but rehydrates to 172-175,the average for a full blown middleweight. Is a Jr middleweight but wants to keep the lineal, ring, and wbc middleweight belts, and be called a middleweight champion. Pathetic.

An the great Kostya Tszyu would spit in Lil G face for fighting bums like Wade. So what's your point? At the end of the day Canelo will still be the lineal middleweight champ with or without the WBC belt and the only thing Lil G can do is kick rocks.

He's right about one thing there's 'always going to be critics' ....this guy and Oscar with ole glass jaw thrown in for good measure are the pits....Not a middleweight cool give the title up and nobody will force a little super welterweight(175lbs!) to fight the man.

I can't help but notice how they emphasize "super welterweight" just to avoid even saying the word "middleweight."

Even though he's technically been a Jr. Middleweight.

If he says that he's just simply not a middleweight then I can respect that, but I'd like to see him compete at the customary 154 lb. limit after the Khan fight.

Boxing needs to enforce the weight classes. The catch-weight concept should only come into play for very special fights, it should not be routine terms for any fighter regardless of popularity. I know Floyd and Manny really broke the wheel on this, but I hate to see it become the norm.

Team a Canelo sounds so bad right now. All theses excuses and posturing looks like an obvious duck. I like Canelo, but I can't cosign this ****. The guy is middleweight whether he wants to admit it or not. When fighters say "I can still make it down to such and such weight" that typically means you have outgrown that weight. Weighing 170 on fight nights is a middleweight. The kid doesn't wanna risk another L against GGG.
