This makes absolutely no sense. The man fights at 155, he is a MW.

He learned from Pacquiao, who made Cotto come to 145 for a title @ 147, and Cotto had the title. Cotto then used the same tactic @ MW, and here we are today!

Where you're wrong is that a CW is agreed upon weight as the what the fighters will weigh ON THE SCALES.

Come fight night, unless there is a re-hydration clause, (Canelo weighed 165 against Floyd) that CW is thrown out the window.

People need to really know the differences, it's not that hard.

He's not a MW yet he fights in the MW division and steps into the ring a LHW. GTFO!

              This just beggars belief.

'I'm not a middleweight despite weighing 173lbs on fight night and I'm fighting a lightly regarded, regularly TKO'd welterweight who's been fairly inactive and whose best wins were at light welterweight a few years ago but I'd like to ensure that we both weigh in at 155lbs before I inflate up to 173lbs because it will further disadvantage him, oh and I'd also like this fight to be for the recognised middleweight championship even though I am a 'super welterweight' who actually fails the definition of being a 'super welterweight' because I cannot weigh 154lbs anymore as I have a massive ****ing skull.'

Seriously! He'd look better just telling people to '**** off' when asked any question about it.

This looks seriously **** and will be in every legacy discussion about him. I really suspect GBP are behind this and it's exceptionally short sighted.

Loeffler / GGG got played. They let team Alvarez have an 'interim' fight as golden boy needed time to build a mega fight. He could have pushed the issue earlier, but that would risk Alvarez dropping the belt without fighting. Had team G known Alvarez was never going to fight him, i doubt they would allow him make a middleweight title defense against a welterweight.
Is this the sort of reasons why golden boy got promotor of year 2015? If so, they're on track to get it twice in a row!

I could understand if he only fought Cotto at 155.
The problem is he has been fighting everybody since Mayweather at that weight.

If he's a SWW like Gomez said, why his last 4 fights were at 155?
I guess more confortable for Nelo.
But those guys think they're above the sport.

I won't blame Nelo, but GBP is full of it.

                      "some sort of title" LOL

So they acknowledge its a fake Middleweight title and that Canelo is not the Man at Middleweight? Then why doesn't he drop it?

I remember how he was all about not fighting for fake titles when he fought Lara. Saying Floyd was the man at 154 and Lara's title was fake ... so since it's not a title fight, Lara can fight me at 155 instead
^ Naturally of course we were led to believe this had nothing to do with Canelo's difficulties making weight or desire to avoid a lurking monster at 160.

It was just out of respect for titles.

But he also wants to fight Khan for "some kind of title". OK, whatever you guys say ...
