Shows how incredibly misinformed you are. Here, let me educate you: Abel Sanchez stuck his foot in his big mouth when he said little g would fight anybody up to 168 lbs. A fight with Froch involved no catch weight but when Andre Ward wanted to fight, Abel backed off and immediately demanded a CATCH WEIGHT of 164 lbs! What was he so afraid of? He knew what all boxing insiders knew: Little g was about to get the boxing lesson of his life and Abel had to prevent this. Simple as that. Little g ducked AW and now Canelo is ducking little g.

Now what if Cotto won and still held the belt would y'all be saying the same thing me personally he would of eventually fought Golovkin at one point because he did fight weight drained Middleweights in Martinez and Geale and I guarantee he would of asked Golovkin to meet him at 157 but the BIG problem is which people over look is the fact that Golovkin said he will fight anyone from 154 to 168 but not Canelo or Ward which may be easier fights for him than Floyd Brook or even Ramierez who knows

but I know that Floyd and Ward Possess the Ring IQ that could beat Golovkin but people should not be mad at Canelo for winning a belt even if it's at middleweight if Golovkin wants the fight so bad he needs to fight at 154 to prove he's the best and move on because it seems like Sanchez and Loffer has a lot to say before Canelo even gets pass Khan when they should focus on true Middleweights like Jacobs and Eubanks Jr until Canelo makes himself ready which he will be

I still don't get why this is so bad though.

Why is it unreasonable to turn down a Ward fight when you're Canelo's mandatory?!? Is Team GGG supposed to have a crystal ball and know whether Canelo will duck or not?

Golovkin could come in light like Manny often did and beat pretty much everyone at 168 except Ward, but with Ward, he'd have to make a full commitment to 168 and put on size and so forth to have a decent chance.

Nobody puts on size for one fight then takes it off at 34 and returns to their previous weight the same.

164 to me seems like a reasonable compromise to make a fair fight between two top notch fighters in different weight classes WHICH WOULDN'T HAVE FORCED GGG TO PUT ON SIZE AND CONSEQUENTLY ABANDON THE MANDATORY POSITION VS. THE LINEAL CHAMP AT HIS WEIGHT (CANELO).

It's "inconsistent" only with a 4 year old position when GGG had not really begun a "campaign" in earnest and no one knew who he was. He'd have taken any fight just to get on TV.

But then a campaign at Middleweight took shape with the goal of becoming undisputed and I don't see how it's unreasonable to want to finish that first before moving up. Who doesn't want to see all doubt quieted at Middleweight first?

              Canelo is.

he beat cotto for the "lineal" wbc middleweight championship belt and he now carries that distinction. plus he rehydrates to damn near light heavyweight on fight night yet refuses to fight a FELLOW MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLIST AT MIDDLEWEIGHT.

              this isnt rocket science.
yeah but he won that belt at a catchweight. why are you omitting that?

GGG said "I will fight ANYONE from 154 to 168".
But when it comes to being more specific, he says he will fight:
Froch or Chavez Jr. at 168.
                Ward at 164
Canelo at 160 "no less than that"
                Floyd at 154.

If he would have just said: "I will fight anyone from 154 to 168 pounds, as long as I am the one who chooses the specific weight according to the specific opponent" then he would not be in trouble as he is right now. He may be a beast at 160, but he is not believable at any other weight, because he hasn't actually fought anyone of note out of 160. So his "challenge" is just hype. If he was for real, he would have fought Ward at 168 and he would be ecstatic at fighting Canelo at 155.

155 for a mando and 3 MW belts + lineal is just disrespectful to boxing, cong**** on defending that. Here's their 100% correct position re Canelo: vacate and a CW is in play

The biggest hurdle in making a fall unification between middleweight champions Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs) and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, 46-1-1, 32KOs) is the weight.

It's getting to the point people now only bring up Ward mostly when it comes to Golovkin which is massively disrespectful to Ward itself. Let's stop pretending these are the same damned circumstances. There is a hugeeeeee difference in facts than what GBP's P.R. team is trying to shovel on us. I'm fine with Oscar not letting Canelo not fight Golovkin, vacate. End of story but for those who want to compare apples to oranges let me simplify it.
                    1. Ward wasn't the champion in his division in Golovkin's division, Andre also had only had one fight in 2 years at 168.
                    2. Ward wasn't his second consecutive mandatory who is doing everything that can be done to not honor the mandatory.
                    3. Andre Ward required he move into a division he has never fought at, Canelo at 155 is fighting at Golovkin's division.
                    4. Ward and Canelo do not belong in the same sentence...two different fighters in two completely different divisions with completely different circumstances towards facing Golovkin.
                    5. Canelo weighed 174 on fight night versus Angulo..Golovkin has never weighed that on fight night.

                      Nope, nobody wants that.

lil'G had his chance, that bird has flown..... he was too chicken.

Gomez is simply saying, be fair..... lil'G ducked Andre Ward, despite talking schit for 3 years..... so remember that when discussing Canelo/Golovkin.
