But then I'll get it back by fighting him twice in a row, beating him and making him eat his "mexican style" by forcing him to fight on the backfoot.

        Yup.

Right Golovkin? **** that, I'm not giving him 45% of a purse that I'm bringing in 90% of the money. I'll fight him down the line on MY terms (exactly what happened).

I gave Golovkin too much credit.....

I said he would end up with a paper title... but, Canelo took everything

the other day Golovkin's wife tweeted that she likes guys with red hair

                  maxi.....

you know how you want to be considered fair and unbiased?

shall we look back at some of your predictions?..... because, I guess that would be fair and unbiased, right?

you guys (the NSB casual-fan krewe)..... took more than a dozen losses in the 2x Canelo fights and the 2x Ward/Kovalev fights..... then add in all the losses you took over Mayweather.....

you take more L's than a pawnstar takes *****

It's funny how people claim the WBC pulled strings in favor of Canelo when they actually went above and beyond for GGG. When Cotto dethroned lineal champ Martinez, the WBC was looking to milk the situation and/or get the title in the hands of GGG (who was being hyped up by HBO), so they took the unusual step of making him the mandatory to his belt even though GGG was already a champ under a different organization. They also increased the standard mandatory split in a purse bid from something like 25% to 40%. GGG hadn't even fought Lemieux at the time, so there's no way to justify such a large split, and it would have been foolish for Cotto to negotiate under those terms when he was able to secure a 75% split in a far more marketable fight against Canelo.

In the meantime, the WBC was happy to milk Cotto of step aside money, but they got greedy in the lead up to Canelo-GGG by demanding something like a million dollars in sanctioning fees and step aside money, which prompted Cotto to vacate the belt beforehand. When Canelo defeated Cotto, he inherited the BS situation but the WBC allowed him only a brief window to negotiate. For the record, you won't find any recent example of a newly crowned champ being ordered to negotiate a title unification within 6 months or face being stripped. The WBC essentially threw their champ Canelo under the bus by giving the negotiating leverage to GGG (who was facing no such pressure from the WBA) because even if GGG simply held out, he'd be guaranteed either an inflated purse he didn't deserve or a belt he didn't earn-- yet some people claim he was the victim in this situation? It was a blatant example of an organization overstepping their boundaries which prompted Canelo to dump the belt so that he could negotiate in his rightful position as the A side. Meanwhile team GGG who claimed he was ducked by other fighters, turned around and rejected a career high payday and a shot at next level stardom against Canelo, but Canelo didn't walk away from negotiations afterward, the two sides continued talking until terms were agreed to.

Like much of the criticism directed at Canelo, the backlash he received was either the result of haters who were judging him by a different standard than any other fighter or casuals with only a passing knowledge of the situation.

                      EXCELLENT post !!

                      especially the bold

the only thing I slightly disagree with is this.....

"Canelo didn't walk away from negotiations afterward, the two sides continued talking until terms were agreed to."

Canelo DID continue negotiating, but that discussion died for the exact same reason the two previous negotiations died..... Mr "anyone from 154-168" was totally unwilling to negotiate on weight.....

from that point on, Golovkin had to wait until Canelo moved up

luckily for Mr "anyone from 154-168", Canelo fought Golovkin in his first real fight at middleweight

Golovkin talked it, but would not walk it..... the superstar Canelo talked it, and then walked it..... BIG difference there, those guys are not cut from the same cloth
