Canelo is now the draw in boxing. So does GGG want the belt or does he want the biggest fights? IMO its in GGG's best intrest to cave to Canelo's demands because he gets the big payday and the chance to win the belt. Should he win in similar fashion to his last fight he'll gain enough fans to be the draw or near the draw where all of his future fights will be big money fights with him and his team dictating the terms. Canelo vacating does nothing to raise GGG's stock/value. He needs the Canelo fight.
Selling out an arena is one thing but to be the draw or the man in boxing requires you to be able to sell PPV's. He needs the Canelo fight to take him to the next level. He also needs to win it.Last edited by HAY-B; 04-25-2016, 01:50 AM.

Nothing wrong w/"catch Wt",,
So long as the both sides agree to it! WBC "right & wrong both" about this! Right in that they pace-their rules. Yes, if one party fail to live up....then penalize! BUT, they need to contain the FIRST &major 4 much better. The IBO simply\don't/belong! It's only the tenderfoot 'new fans' who don't realize the development since the Curry/Starling days!
What is it with the FIRST &MAJOR 4 that they drift as they have? It used to be "airtight" between/within them!
It doesn't make sense and it has "cost" the boxing community. Golovikin "foul"w/this!

Ggg had better not give canelo another catch-weight fight. Canelo won't agree to 160, so just get your belt already. When and if he's ready in the future, he can challenge ggg for the undisputed title, all the belts. We all know Canelo can't beat him.

What is it with this crap. You didn't see Leonard Duran or Hearns try that nonsense with Hagler. They just fought.
He'll probably fight Pacquiao, and it would be hillarious if the little guy beats him over 12 rounds.
The Mexican fans are on to what Canelo is doing, and more importantly they honor and respect a fighter GGG.
