So the question to ask is not the obvious one, but rather what does Golovkin do because picking a belt out of a trashcan is not taking him to a higher level, even if he has to fight some schlep from the WBC middleweight rankings it really does nothing for Golovkin.
Sometimes a fight has to wade through the crap and put himself in position where no one can duck him any longer. It looks like that's what Golovkin has to do. Picking up the WBC belt against some crap fighter is better than not picking it up at all. Grab all those belts and anyone who wants one has to go through you.

I don't even like talking about it because it is dumb, but I have long felt that Golovkin and his team have been hoodwinked and bamboozled while waiting for something good to happen for them. They have not gone out and taken things by the scruff of the neck, which allows them to easily be passed over and messed with.

Even if he grabs all the belts he ends up kind of screwed because it leaves no room for growth in the division. One will eventually be stripped away because that is how it goes but it would take a lot of work for that guy to get established as any sort of threat.

I don't have a real good solution for him though other than he just needs to do his own thing and not be dependent on Martinez, or Cotto, or Canelo giving him a shot.

Honestly the best move might be force the WBC to be stripped, but then don't fight for it (or drop it) letting someone else to come up. Letting someone else build up a bit of steam before hopefully being able to take them out.

So in other words, yes it's a contradictory.
lol exactly, i just wanted to put imdazed in his place. that guy is one of the worse posters ive seen on here.

The moment he got pressured into giving reasons as to why caneloa can win, he resorted to "well, im not saying he can win"

            I second this.

No one is going to say "Oh look, Canelo got stripped is the only reason GGG got the belt", they will say "Oh look, Canelo didn't want to fight GGG, who went onto become the champion at the weight.

No one ****s on Lewis for not being able to get Bowe in the ring.

This is why I kinda want Canelo's cherrypick to backfire

The worst thing that happened to this division was Martinez losing to Cotto

If only Murray was reward with that second knockdown.

Actually never mind looking at the scorecards he would lost anyway.

That is true. Murray did beat Martinez IMO
