I don't believe that. Complete utter bull ****.

Beterbiev was calling Kovalev out for quite some time.. until Kovalev offered him a fight back HOME, guess who needed another fight, got an injury, and been awfully quiet since?

GGG and Kovalev are the future, keep crying
Beterbiev and his team wanted the fight to marinate so he could become the mandatory, all he wanted was 1 more fight to prepare for Kovalev. Kovalev wanted him as soon as possible. You think Beterbiev took an entire year off his career and faked an injury just to duck Kovalev? lmao

This is a decent fight. If HBO and Haymon can continue to work (Wade & Khan are not a bad start) maybe something special can happen in the LHW division. If not, Kovalev and Ward will fight 2- times, and then they both can retire. Maybe Kovalev does a Roy Jones Jr. and shoots for a HW title before he retires?

no. don't need to see that. once is enough. just to get rid of ward. lets hope he doesn't cry and earn himself another payday which i'm sure he won't from that beating. if it ever happens which is doubtful. you don't get beat up by barrera and have confidence for kovalev.

Well then, if HBO and Haymon can't end the feud, who does Kovalev fight after Ward? A Heavyweight?

I think it must be announced before the end of June. The fight is scheduled for November 19th so they could fight in August and still be ready for a November fight.

If HBO doesn't show this fight, why wouldn't they allow his fight against Stevenson to be a joint HBO-Showtime PPV venture?

Garbage Fight BIG FISH SMALL POND

Absolute Waste of Time Fight. This is why GGG and Kovalev have to move up in weight. They are being ducked and fighting garbage that no one wants to see. Chilemba is a gutless pitty patterer and not even a good one at that. At least Ward has had success as a pitty pat ******. The only good fight Kov has had is Pascal 1. Everything else is shlt. BIG FISH SMALL POND.

I don't have to twist anything. If you understand how the business of boxing works you would know why that happened. If Beterbiev became the mandatory they he would make more money right? They wouldn't have to take what ever offer they were given and could go to a purse bid which would benefit both fighters.

Kovavalev was fighting for free, which tells you a lot about his promoter. Go see what Stevenson was making his last 3-4 fights and see what Kovalev was making (mainly because of Pascal).
Why is he fighting on a Monday dude? Even if you are his biggest fan you have to wonder what his promoter is thinking. You are supposed to be facing Ward on PPV at the end of the year but your next fight won't be on HBO? WTF?

Dude you are not going to get anyone's attention with FACTS. It doesn't work on this board. They believe their guy is being duck by everyone but won't look at his promoter and blame her for the fight not happening.

If the Russians came with a big offer it would then be up to HBO whether they'd let Kovalev go and while PBC on ESPN likely wouldn't be allowed to air it in the US so nothing in it for Haymon. Unlikely scenario.

I'd venture Russian money could potentially make the fight happen, but it would have to be enough to convince HBO to share it with Showtime, these appear to be Haymon's conditions.
Kovalev likes to make us believe he wants to unify all 4 major belts, it seems like they haven't found any opponent to persuade top Russia promoter Ryabinsky, thus Adonis Stevenson is still the WBC champion, still available and almost 40, not to mention Al Haymon recently loss Wilder's purse bid to Andrei Ryabinsky.
                      Kathy Duva:
The shame of this is that if the [WBC] purse bid had happened when it was supposed to, we would be in a position to bid.”
“But sadly, they pushed it and that’s too bad because I really needed to come here with Sergey, take the time to make the meetings we had, to talk to the people we have talked to,” explained Duva. “We have met with some people who can buy and sell Al Haymon 15 times. We can certainly bring a fight to Russia now. I feel we could do it but we couldn’t do it [then].”
                      by Steve Kim | Aug 16, 2015

Humm! That sociopath we call Duva, rejected 3 WBC purse bid, rejected the joint PPV idea; but clearly specified since August 2015 if the Kovalev/Stevenson fight is held in Russia, they will be in a position to bid. Not to mention Kovalev still hold that WBC Diamond belt. So according to her words, now is it not the right time to bid?
Why is it so hard to take a minute, just to think of why Kovalev clan are still lying that much.

"Power don't come from a badge or a gun. Power comes from lying. Lying big and getting the whole damn world to play along with you. Once you've got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true you've got 'em by the balls."
