Thought Ward really really wanted to fight Kovalev, dummies? lol
So it's Ward's fault Kovalev is fighting Chilemba? Are you ******? Kovalev and his team said repeatedly they wanted one fight in Russia before Ward. Maybe you shouldn't speak if you haven't kept up with what's going on.

seems like an opponent who could make him look bad and he won't even get any credit for beating

I mean it's not a good fight, but if it leads to Ward no1 should be complaining.

Has Ward said anything about another tune-up before facing Kovalev?

Not bad for a fight in Russia, probably the best guy that would fight there. Difficult style, tough guy, alot of heart, awkward.

I figured Chilemba would be fighting a guy like Slava next. Not get another title opportunity against Kovalev.

I was hoping Kovalev would be fighting Fonfara or Alvarez next not a fringe contender in Chilemba.

on paper it's not the worst they could have picked. possibly good prep in case ward brings a spoilerish gameplan. but i just don't think it's going to get anyone excited about anything. with the ward fight apparently writ in stone, the in between should be used for promotion

                    From E.S.P.N:
The fight will be televised live in Russia on Channel One but American television coverage has been not finalized. Although Kovalev has a contract with HBO, there is no guarantee the network will be able to put on the fight - which will take place on a Monday afternoon United States times.
"Broadcasting sports events live from certain regions of Russia can be a challenge," Duva said. "HBO Sports is exploring carrying the event in the U.S. It's too early to be definitive. We know they love Sergey."
                    .....

Humm! There is One single question everybody should ask themselves, but it's weird, no one here does. Anyway! what about their EXCLUSIVITY contract, instead Duva is saying HBO love Sergey; Excuse my English, but WTF, her lies reached a whole new level. If it's the case, Kovalev vs Stevenson could & can be setup any day in Russia or else, with more money for both on the table.
                    Exclusivity rights, yeah right...
