^^^^^^exactly my point...anyone with a clear head knows this guy is arguably the best fighter from 1980-2016

does anyone see anyone thats active today at 154 or 160 winning titles at 160,168,175 n heavy....let alone making it look easy until his ill-fated drop in weight.

Jones was a once in a generation or lifetime talent....Jones out of the top 5, illustrates the true motive

not one fighter in history was as dominant as this guy at age 34 n younger

Having said that, I did a lot of research on these fighters and was lucky enough to have watched a tonne of them in my own life time.

Remember, this is fro m1980 on wards, I doubt you will find any boxing analyst, journalist etc who would rank Jones above Manny, Floyd, Holyfield, Hearns, Chavez, Leonard etc. The Hopkins v Jones argument is debatable and the guys can be switched.
It's all debatable, considering it's an opinion.

            some opinions arent worth sharing

especially when it lacks depth, validity, and consistency

the list looks more like personal preference

its guys higher than fighters that were clearly more accomplished and dominant than them

Leonard barely got by hearns and lost to a former lightweight in his prime...Duran

who moving up would you favor to beat Jones at 160-175?

Jones dominated the all time greats he faced and hall of famers. You dont get kudos for struggling

Ali lost 3.5 years of his prime and took a few loses before his 34 birthday. Norton was no all time great..he had his number

Look at who Jones fought then look at who robinson fought...the same people who criticize Jones opposition dont even know who Robinson lost to

come on....Randy Turpin wouldve got blitzed by Jones, just like lil azz Lamotta who Robinson struggled with...Carmen friggin basilio wouldnt last 5 rounds with jones at 160

screw the nostalgia...i have two good eyes

                No. 7 Bernard Hopkins

                55(32)-7-2

They say father time comes for every man but is that true of Bernard Hopkins? This is a man who has spent the majority of his 30th and 40th decade of life as a world champion. He is arguably the greatest middleweight since Hagler and he is a 2 time, lineal light heavyweight champion of the world. He won those titles against the odds.

In fact, if they ever make a movie on Hopkins life, "against the odds" is what it should be called. This is a man who started his career in prison, who got released and lost his first pro fight but months later, he was back. Stronger, faster and better than ever before. World titles at middleweight followed and in terms of both time and number of defenses, he put on a reign for the ages.

Yet his greatness was not complete. He would move up 15lb to secure THE title at light heavyweight and from then on, put forward the most startling, post 30 career the sport has ever witnessed. His most recent fight was against the dreaded Sergey Kovalev...so to put it in the great mans own words, "I always ran to the fire, never away." Indeed.

All lists are opinions one way or another but this is an educated opinion and it seems the people who have problems with the list are those who are fans of a particular fighter and race, not of the sport itself.
