The Best 1980-2015

Just stop replying to him, like I did. Him and his homies from Compton don't care about the sport so what's the point?
This guy thinks Jones had a better career than Ali. That says all there is to say on the matter.Comment

I understand it's not practical to list the cons on a top list. Maybe what would have been better to say, is that in the case of specific arguments about placement of one fighter over another, an explanation would help. For instance, why wouldn't Jones rank higher than Manny, Floyd, Hearns or Leonard? He was touted as the best P4P in the business in his prime.I didn't want to list the cons as that's not what a bio of a fighter on a list should be. This isn't an argument about how bad a fighter is but rather how good he is. Ranking him non top 5 doesn't mean I dislike him. Etc.
Having said that, I did a lot of research on these fighters and was lucky enough to have watched a tonne of them in my own life time.
Remember, this is fro m1980 on wards, I doubt you will find any boxing analyst, journalist etc who would rank Jones above Manny, Floyd, Holyfield, Hearns, Chavez, Leonard etc. The Hopkins v Jones argument is debatable and the guys can be switched.Comment

I can't be the only one excited to see the rest of the list. We haven't had a good jabs dont count in boxing or Espin0za caliber thread in awhile.

This is such BS. People who are criticizing you are doing it based solely on where you have ranked Floyd and Roy. Had you made a more honest and credible list these wouldn't be here.
Hate them or love them, from 1980-2015 either Floyd or Roy was the top ranked p4p boxer in the world for something like 20 of those 35 years. Roy was so far ahead of everyone else its laughable and I am no roy fan. Floyd was #1 or #2 every year post 2000, except when he retired. yet you have them 8th and 9th overall. Sorry dude, that isn't f-cking possible.
You claim to be against "fanboyism" then create a list that wreaks of it.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 06-21-2016, 02:34 PM.Comment

its obvious when you are a fan boy no matte how you slice it, dice it, or repackage it
these two dudes alone covered 20 years as the best in the sport....ask the trainers, pros, and real unbiased fans....they all will have these guys top 5Comment

Ok fair point, I understand what you're saying but I largely wanted to keep my bios complimentary and hurt fighters reputations, fighters that I really like, by listing their cons.I understand it's not practical to list the cons on a top list. I think I'll add in a section where I point out why I listed certain guys above others once I've posted my last write up.
If you have any particular questions, post or message me and I'll answer it in my round up.Comment

Thanks...although I have no idea what you're talking about.
First off, that's not true. This is such BS. People who are criticizing you are doing it based solely on where you have ranked Floyd and Roy. Had you made a more honest and credible list these wouldn't be here.

Second, even if it were, what does a biased p4p ranking often influenced by The Ring and HBO have to do with anything. At one point, the same p4p lists you love to quote had the likes of Ortiz, Guerrero, Broner, Canelo (before he was worthy) as mentions on that list.
But like I said, if you want to have a genuine discussion, I will be doing a round up post at the end of the list and I'll answer why I have Jones and Mayweather top 10 (which is amazing in my book) rather than top 5.Comment

Right on, brother. Now THAT's how adults have a discussion/debate. No name calling or silly insults. (You listening, therealpugilist?)Ok fair point, I understand what you're saying but I largely wanted to keep my bios complimentary and hurt fighters reputations, fighters that I really like, by listing their cons.

Talk about corny phrases: "emo", "DUH"? Neither your opinions nor your criticisms are constructive. Rather, they are often childish & fail to sensibly illustrate a point. Grow up.
