so exactly what part were you NOT saying it was fact? Or when you say you know something is true, what you REALLY mean is that its just your opinion??

    hmmmm.............
Ok, semantics. You win. Change we know its true (which of course we do) to it's my opinion that Ward today is not as shot as ODH was in the Manny fight. I think most share this opinion, including you, as you haven't disagreed with it, just how I worded it.

It is my opinion GGG isn't as good as Manny was when he fought ODH. GGG has not fought or defeated anywhere near the caliber of opponents Manny had to this point in his career. You seem to disagree, but haven't outright said it, just passively aggressively say that's a matter of opinion.

    • why is a guy who was an amateur 175lb champion,
career 168 pounder who already wiped out 168 with the supersix,
who just fought at 175 (finally)

constantly talking about a fighters below his division????

this dude is trying to cherry pick fights with fighters BELOW his division which he already emptied is just shameless.....

      • April 20, 2016:

Loeffler has one of the toughest jobs in the sport. He gets to promote an incredible talent, who is also extraordinarily charismatic as well as fan and media friendly.

But there are few compelling options for Golovkin in his weight class, one that he makes easily, other than Alvarez and perhaps Danny Jacobs. And Alvarez is the bigger star and his promoter calls the shots. Jacobs is aligned with Al Haymon and Haymon fighters don’t typically fight on HBO, which has an exclusive contract with Golovkin.

So each time Golovkin fights a lesser name, be it a Marco Antonio Rubio or a Martin Murray or a Willie Monroe or a David Lemieux, Loeffler has to sell it to fans who are disappointed he’s not fighting Alvarez or Julio Cesar Chavez or Carl Froch or Andre Ward.

And when Loeffler was pressed on the possibility, or to be truthful, the likelihood, that Alvarez will face someone other than Golovkin next, he reverts to the only stance he can take: The belt.

“[Alvarez’s team] asked the WBC to be able to make a title defense [before fighting Gennady] but after that, the mandate from the WBC is clear: He would have to fight Gennady next, or he’ll lose the belt,” Loeffler said.

Golovkin has the interim WBC belt and if Alvarez declines to fight him next, the WBC has said it would strip Alvarez and declare Golovkin the outright champion. Of course, sanctioning bodies change their minds all the time, and that’s no guarantee to happen. And fans at this point don’t care: They want to see Golovkin, one of this era’s special talents, in against someone who actually has a chance.

The time for patience is long since past.

But it's okay with you when Golovkin does it. You and I both know why.

We don't know how good GGG is. That's the problem. He's 34, and he has not accomplished anything near what Pacquiao had by age 34. He let the Ward fight slip away because Ward was "inactive," now he might get played by Oscar and either drop to 154, or continue to fight Wade and Curtis Stevens.

              Keep hating idiot
He didn't... Ward signed with HBO a three fights deal with a view to meet Kovalev, eventually. Therefore, Ward gets $3.5-4mln for two "tune ups" and prays that Kova get sparked by accident or dies from whatever causes. In case Kovalev is OK, Ward could fake an injury (as usual), may retire, may run to papa Al (like the pimp), a.s.o.

              • Ward sounds upset about what Boone said, poor guy will never get over the fact that Golovkin is loved more than him.

Yet people say this guy isn't being hand fed or that he isn't being a spoilt little brat?

Incredible there is no way his fights cover him earning that much at all, definitely wouldn't pay him that I'd pay him at max 500k for that Barrera fight and 250k for that pathetic Smith Jr fight.

Everything you said applies to GG also, the Olympic middleweight class limit is 165 which is effectively SMW, so why is Golovkin at 160 then and not 168?

Ward turned pro at 160, he only competed at LHW in the olympics to accommodate Andre Dirrell who was also a talented fighter at MW. You probably already know this...

This whole Canelo situation will rightfully bite GGG and his team in the a$$, I've being telling people from day that this fight will not happen till Golden Boy want it to and that's when they feel it is winnable. The Canelo fight is not about the belts, it's GGGs best and easily most winnable bet to become a star. This is why they will probably wait as long as it takes. That belt without Canelo is just another sanctioning fee he has to pay.
