DUH, did this Golovkin guy just realize the obvious? Didn't he know Canelo's manager/promoter has been a huge name in boxing promotions for more than a decade now? Didn't he realize that Canelo has his own company "Canelo promotions" where he actually promotes fights for other fighters, mostly Mexican ones, where he doesn't even fight?
He should stop pretending to be (or actually being) an ignorant and start negotiating if he REALLY wants to prove anything. Canelo has NEVER fought even close to 160, and him (GGG) has never fought at 155 or close to that low a weight himself --yet the guy is a hypocrite because he has said repeatedly that he would go down to even less than 155 for Floyd only, WTH???
So him or his management should stop being a team of fools and begin the negotiations... what about saying we are willing to go to 158, in hopes Canelo team would accept say 157? That would be about middle ground, a weight both of them have never fought on.
Clearly, GGG is way more interested in fighting Canelo than the other way around. But saying repeatedly that he would go down in weight "only for Floyd" is offensive for Canelo, it makes him look like he is playing second fiddle. I'll bet GGG and his team haven't even considered this due to their lack of common sense. If Canelo ends up being offended in his pride, he may end up dissing GGG for good, just like both Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. dissed Khan, tired of his endless blabbering. They should really be careful on what they say and how they say it!
