No this is a waste of time. Give Spence a big name opponent next

I haven't seen this guy fight. A little disappointed. Rather see Spence's next fight against the bigger named, higher ranked fighters at 147. Brook, Porter, Broner, Garcia, Thurman, Vargas, Bradley. And depending on what happens his next fight you can throw Khan on that list. Even a proven rugged guy like Diego Chaves I'd take over this.

Maybe this guy is a Johann Duhaupas, solid but unknown, but as of right now I don't know. I'll check him out, but I have a hard time believing his time fighting in the amateurs and fighting unknowns will prepare him for Spence who definitely has a better amateur background and better professional wins in dominating fashion.
Proof of complete ignorance...Brad Soloman was THE prime prospect 4-5 years ago and problems outside the ring have kept him out of the lime light...How can you not know who he is?

doesn't he hold the nabf belt so it'd be a title fight and ibf eliminator?

I wanted a bigger name for Spence next. But it never hurts for a young fighter to get in another development type fight before going for the title.

And the Haymon vs Top Rank angle will be interesting to see play out. As I've said before that's one of the useful things things sanctioning bodies can do for the sport, force opposing promoters to have to work with each other.

I don't understand why people wouldn't want to see this. Ponomarev is better than guys like Peterson, Guerrero, Algieri etc.

Development fight? Spence will be the third undefeated Ponomarev has fought in four fights... This is 50/50 type fight

Because they don't know who Brad Soloman and Mikael Zewski is....basically they are casuals.

Konstantin is good but doubt he's ready. He is only 23 and still has flaws to work on. I wanted to see more of him before ge stepped up. Spence on the other hand looks ready to step up. Althought Kon is #10 ranked Ring WW, he is still just a rookie. He needs rugged veterans Soto Karass, Humberto Soto, Randall Bailey. A fight like Spence is too early imo.
