Styles make fights. It can take the the smallest think to beat a "slick" fighter on any given night just the same as it can with any other style. Its just up to the opponent to find the certain thing and stick to it.

to me there is nothing better in boxing
I agree and then when the opposing fighter tries to attack you, you bend over so only the back of your head is the target, which can't be hit. Throw in the occasional lunging clinch and it's a masterclass.

Boxers/punchers always seem to be the best imo.

You beat me to the punch!!! Great post.

Btw, I loved how Hopkins absorbed and nullified tito's strengths!!!

how do you beat the slick style?
Konstantin Ponamarev who is 30-0 just beat and took the 0 of the slick Brad Solomon who was 26-0 when he lost last week on that pacquiao bradley undercard

Lucas Matthyse beating Ajose Olesegun and Lamont Peterson also come to mind as does Aaron Martinez beating Devon Alexander and mickey bey and argenis mendez beating Miguel Vazquez and Giovani Segura beating Ivan Calderon twice.

It happens all the time. Any style can beat beat any style. It is more a matter of the talent level of the operator. the superior fighter regardless of style almost always wins

On the flipside, Trinidad made slick fighters in Camacho and Whitaker look like easy fights. It will always work both ways in boxing. No one style is perfect.

That was truly something. Tito was on such a tear, then just drove straight into a brick wall with Bernard. Back when Bhop still had some slickness and didn't have to resort to smash and grab.
I remember hoping Hopkins would do well but when you start feeling bad for the guy you were rooting AGAINST just a few rounds prior (Tito), you know someone is getting a schooling.
