How many times in history a fighter was so avoided?

I just saw Briggs' Boxrec and he has a fight booked for next month.

Looks like TBA (never heard of him though) is only fighter with enough courage to go one on one with The Cannon.

Yea he is fighting on Hayes undercard with the agreement that if he wins he fights Haye next...

How many times really? a fighter was feared this much for so many years?

I can think of Kovalev.. but at least Kovalev was able to fight some names. He could not unify but at least he fought some good names.

Sam Langford was avoided like the plague. He got a fight with Ketchel and a few guys, but he wound up fighting the same sub par opponents ten times a piece. It was a real disgrace.

It is strange. Even Tyson wasn't avoided as much. I suppose that's because Tyson could bring a better payday for his opponents. That's not GGG's fault but it is the way of things currently.
