You make far less than that, and you're also not taking into consideration all the fees they have to pay to attend multiple sanctioning bodies annual conferences which are often in random ass parts of the globe like Russia or Peru, and the time you have to take off work to attend them. And also the local shows where you leave work early and drive to a show in another state, come back at wee hours in the morning, and after food and gas you actually lost money. But if you don't do those shows, the commissions won't reward you with the big fights that everyone wants to do. Basically you kind of have to have the kind of career where you're a boss and can take your vacation time as you please with short notice, or be self-employed.

If judging boxing paid the way you think it does, we'd all be doing it LOL
I wouldn't do it for 25K. I think were on the same page here; the one where judges/refs don't get paid nearly enough for it to be a career that anyone would go into unless its as a hobby that they can afford. That's how you get 88 year old men who have memory issues judging fights; no one else will do the job.

2 many judges protected & allowed 2 longer after al horrid s ore cards & no state ontervention...most states don't have national scrutiny as vegas & CA/ look at Ford & Cynthia Ross, if this was in Wyoming these stay 2 longs & incompetent were allowed 2 stay, respectively...now ford does clinics 4 boxing bodies w/enormous fees & is NABF President 4 WBC, a dead body but rakes in great $$$$...SAD 4 BOXING!!!!

EVERY time Maidana even THOUGHT about punching Floyd, Bayless was right there in between them. Maidana had ZERO chance in that fight with Bayless being SO EAGER to break them up even WHEN Maidana had one arm free. Wouldn't even give Maidana any cance to work ANY inside game plan.

I like Floyd but he didn't need Bayless help to win. Every time I bring this up EVERYone always brings up the 1st fight on how Maidana was allowed to Mug Floyd.
I've always thought Floydie had Cortez and later Bayless in his wallet. As for Maidana/Floydie I, Floydie chose Maidana knowing the guy was not going to play nice. And why should any fighter get special treatment? It's a fight, afterall. I luv how Maidana showed him no respect. But yeah, Floydie/Maidana II, Floydie/Hatton, Maidana/Khan... all 3 had bad ref interference.
