Those same bars that show UFC don't even show boxing ppv anymore, and they did in the past.

I think corruption and a general sense of disorganization is why people don't care. I don't think people consider it a real sport anymore. More like a side show event. It's a shame because a great boxing match trumps any other sport's best event.
theres also another component to consider, and thats revenue. One of my sponsors back when I was still running shows was Winghouse, and they do both boxing and ufc ppvs at over 20 Florida locations, and management has told me on several occasions that the ufc crowds spend alot more $$$ on food and beverage than the boxing crowds do........

The problem is they didn't even take this into account I bet. They are newbies to the world of televised sports.
But I doubt they can pick and choose which dates they want. They probably have a list of dates they can choose from. NBC isn't going to open up 52 Saturdays for them to choose from.

Per person or due to larger crowds?

Just asking because I go to this bar for fights and McGregor vs Diaz was a packed house while Pac vs Bradley was like 12 people there.

I wonder if that is because UFC crowds are bigger. Or if it's because wealthier people support the UFC and poorer people support boxing.

Well, if NBC is giving them a list of dates that just so happen to coincide with major sporting events on other networks then they are playing PBC pretty hard and taking advantage of them.

That's incredibly low, but there was a ton of competition. The UFC had a card on Fox and the NBA playoffs were on as well. HBO also had the Pacquiao/Bradley replay, but idk if that had a big effect or not.

                NHL playoffs.
                MLB.
                UFC on FOX.
                Premier league soccer.

Not saying all of these ran head-to-head, but there was some major sports fatigue for viewers yesterday.

PBC picking Spence-Algieri as a main event and putting it on prime time NBC on such a busy day tells you they are probably not going to be working with NBC past the current time-buy deal.
Yeah I'm wondering how much they really expected for this card. They paid out some really low purses for it.

Or testing to see how well they can do going up against other sports. If they can do reasonably well it's worth the buy. NBC knows it takes years to build a brand.
