i like porter vs thurman and am curious about spence tonight in a step up fight. i liked the pac bradley and undercard matchups too. they didn't turn out as great as i expected (abraham performance was disappointing) but were good on paper. i like loma vs rocky and postol vs crawford too. hoping we get danny garcia vs peterson 2 next as wellComment

nothing against these fighters i like them but surely u agree these shouldnt be the headline and co feature on espn. these are shobox or toe to toe tuesday fs1 level fightsComment

Did anyone else catch the fact that the first PBC card in ESPN isn't happening until the year's midway point? Wtf? Bring back Friday night fightsArtur Beterbiev (9-0, 9 KOs), a light heavyweight contender, will be headlining the first PBC on ESPN card of this year on June 4th, according to promoter Yvon Michel. Beterbiev's opponent has not yet been announced but he'll fight at the Bell Centre in Montreal with Erickson Lubin (14-0, 10 KOs) on the co-feature.Comment

Didn't ESPN do a PPV of Chris Arreola vs Bermane Stiervne at one point? I think you might be overrating ESPN's importance in boxing here first off. And for PBC specifically iirc the first ESPN card was Thurman vs Collazo which wasn't exactly seen as a PBC on NBC or Fox level card either.
Secondly, I don't even know who he's fighting yet so I can't really grade this card yet. I suspect it'll be a prospect type guy & 175 has a ton of those types of guys which could be interesting for fans to see.
And thirdly I don't even think Beterbiev vs TBA is a FS1 caliber fight. I can't even think of a ranked guy who's also got a lil bit of a name & following thats headlined a FS1 card. I certainly know it hasn't happened a whole lot if it has happened. It doesn't feel like a Shobox card either just cuz of Beterbiev's rank & following. Typically Shobox guys are mostly unknown or unknown-ish prospects.Comment

Glad to see you get some enjoyment out of boxing besides ****ting on things all the time. and fyi stiverne vs arreola on espn wasnt ppv. it was when espn experimented and bought a fight that was way bigger than their typical fsn budgetComment

Yea I didn't say it definitely hasn't happened, only that if it did I don't recall it & it hasn't happened much. I'm not sure I'd count Vazquez & Mendez among examples of higher ranked guys with a following doe. Austin & Julian I can agree with you on.Comment

Turns out he's taking on Boxrec's 28th ranked super middleweight.BoxRec has him #8, and none of the governing bodies (WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO) have him rated lower than #6; the injury is definitely a serious consideration (a shoulder injury no less), but it's not like he has the latitude, in headlining a show at the Bell Centre and in primetime on ESPN, to take on a bum.
He's not taking on a top-10 guy at 175, but I wouldn't rule out anyone #20 or below on BoxRec, tbh.Comment
