Nice. One of my favorite guys on the rise in the sport right now. Actually two of them. Lubin is on the undercard. Curious to see the caliber of opponent they take after the time off.Comment

The fight is 10 weeks away, the deal is already locked in on ESPN/Bell Centre, and there's no doubt that Team Beterbiev already has a list of guys that they'd consider fighting (with those guys on the short list in a gym somewhere).
Even getting 8 weeks notice isn't all that much beyond normal, so why try to knock things (in either fight)?Comment

Not sure how good the opponent will be given Beterbiev was injured and will have missed a year (by the time of the fight). The fight is 10 weeks away, the deal is already locked in on ESPN/Bell Centre, and there's no doubt that Team Beterbiev already has a list of guys that they'd consider fighting (with those guys on the short list in a gym somewhere).

BoxRec has him #8, and none of the governing bodies (WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO) have him rated lower than #6; the injury is definitely a serious consideration (a shoulder injury no less), but it's not like he has the latitude, in headlining a show at the Bell Centre and in primetime on ESPN, to take on a bum.
He's not taking on a top-10 guy at 175, but I wouldn't rule out anyone #20 or below on BoxRec, tbh.Comment
