its a low budget card. That is shobox level. With Beterbiev being out so long he won't be in with a killer. The fight is 10 weeks away, the deal is already locked in on ESPN/Bell Centre, and there's no doubt that Team Beterbiev already has a list of guys that they'd consider fighting (with those guys on the short list in a gym somewhere).
Even getting 8 weeks notice isn't all that much beyond normal, so why try to knock things (in either fight)?
At best this is the opening bout of a three fight telecast with Bute or Stevenson headlining from MontrealComment

what makes you assume that it'll be a "low budget card" and "ShoBox level"? The fight is on primetime in the US, will likely draw a good amount of attention in Montreal, and it's the "return" bout for a guy that was a win away from pulling Kovalev's card again.
Beterbiev-TBA is the headlining fight for the show, with Erickson Lubin's next fight as the chief support; it's already been settled as that, so why play dumb?Comment

Artur Beterbiev (9-0, 9 KOs), a light heavyweight contender, will be headlining the first PBC on ESPN card of this year on June 4th, according to promoter Yvon Michel. Beterbiev's opponent has not yet been announced but he'll fight at the Bell Centre in Montreal with Erickson Lubin (14-0, 10 KOs) on the co-feature.

The boxrec top 20 isn't that high of a standard....Karpency and Dawson are in the top 20 and I don't think people would be all that excited about a main event with Beterbiev fighting either of those guys.BoxRec has him #8, and none of the governing bodies (WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO) have him rated lower than #6; the injury is definitely a serious consideration (a shoulder injury no less), but it's not like he has the latitude, in headlining a show at the Bell Centre and in primetime on ESPN, to take on a bum.
He's not taking on a top-10 guy at 175, but I wouldn't rule out anyone #20 or below on BoxRec, tbh.Comment

thanks for making my point. beterbiev after a year off in a tune up main event is a show box level fight. lubin is still a green prospectv and wont be stepping upwhat makes you assume that it'll be a "low budget card" and "ShoBox level"?
