He should be fighting 3-4 times a year. 5 times in 3 years sounds like a big PPV, millionaire fighter. Even Floyd fought 6 times in 3 years in his final 3 years.

If he doesn't want to be in the sport then he should leave it. You can only go so far without ambition and desire.

Fair play. If I was in his position, that would be a consideration of mine. He's never going to be in high demand, so it might be better for him to retire with his health and a reasonable chunk of money that he can work with.

Gary Russell has turned out to be a disappointment. Too many injuries and TBAs.

I respect any fighter who can retire healthy and on their own terms. The sport shouldn't retire you.

Oh man. I got money on Hyland. Retire him, so I can quit crying a river.

I guess any upper level fighter can look good against mid-level competition. I won't be around when this guy is 60 and still whining on sports shows 'bout the Loma loss. He does certainly hold a higher opinion of himself than he needs to.

Why? He's been boxing his whole life, no longer enjoys it and has injury problems. If he doesn't enjoy it it's his right to step away.

You're not a fan anyways why does it matter to you?
