  • Comments Thread For: Gary Russell Jr.: Maybe Three Years, Five Fights Left For Me

Gary Russell Jr. is less than two months from his 28th birthday, an age at which many fighters are in their prime. The featherweight titleholder doesn't see himself sticking around for too much longer, though.

All the power to him. I hope he makes the most of those five fights.

Like with the NFL, I can't blame anyone who doesn't want to stick around and get their head bashed to the point his brain turns to mush.

Mapping Gary Russell Junior's route to retirement:-

                Fight 1: GR vs TBA
                Fight 2: GR vs TBA
                Fight 3: GR vs TBA
                Fight 4: GR vs TBA
                Fight 5: GR vs TBA

Seriously though, don't blame him for getting out early rather than late. The bit where Leon Spinks appears in your video CatchweightKing is why. Sad to see.

He talks like he's Pac or Mayweather instead of TBA Killer.

                  Completely delusional.

He doesn't love boxing, it was just the family business. He made some good money and one a world title and wants to leave at 30. It's weird to me but it is smart.
