No split was discussed (whatever it would be, it would be a career high payday) and the fight was to take place in the first half of 2016 (nowhere near 15 months), in time where Golovkin most certainly has nothing better to do. More daggum spin for a guy who ducked. Trying to convince low information fans that he didn't duck.

Why do you keep saying this? Ward sounded very magnanimous about offering the bigger star 50/50

A 10lb bigger B sider straight off BET offering 50/50 to a guy that's about to carry his first ppv and mando to Cotto/Canelo, that's the deal.
But tons of contingencies. Remind me, how does it go if come April 15th
a. Wards knee goes inflamed
B. Or Gggs knee
Then a month later Canelo doesn't wanna get stripped and offers 157 for sept say?Comment

So, Ward wanted the Murdock tune up first -- with a $2 mln purse from HBO... Very smart...Comment

They're talking about fighting Canelo in 2017 now while you're making up a ton of lame scheduling conflict excuses that were never going to exist. It's quite ridiculous.
You yourself have already made it clear that Canelo will do everything to avoid GGG by making up all these weird conspiracies. Why in the world do you think GGG should waste time with Canelo when there was someone legit else that actually wanted to fight him?Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 04-16-2016, 03:02 PM.Comment

I don't know why you take this position since the very brief offer from Ward was at a time when Golovkin was signing a deal with Lemieux with the idea that they would be fighting the Cotto/Canelo winner after that. It wouldn't make sense at all for k2 to sign a deal for Ward ~1 year away without even having any details ironed out with Canelo/Cotto, at a higher weight class. Makes little sense since obviously their priority was and still is Canelo. Immediately after K2 told Roc Nation they weren't interested in that type of deal, Ward made it official he was to campaign at 175. Further, people always leave out the fact that before Golovkin was in this position (mandatory to WBC) and was struggling to land fights, they approached Ward for a fight at 168 and Ward rejected the idea outright, saying Golovkin needs to be a bigger name and whatnot, so it's hypocritical for Ward and people to say Golovkin should drop all of his plans of unification when he's so close and move up in weight for a guy who had been out of the sport for so long solely because Ward suddenly was "ready".Comment

Never seen anyone play accountant so hard to avoid watching one of the most intriguing fights that can possibly made. Pacquiao-Mayweather got made. Ward-Kovalev got made. You're acting as if GGG-Ward some crazy difficult fight to be made. It's not. Let them figure it out. Problem is GGG didn't even bother to negotiate. If two fighters really want to fight each other, fights happen. GGG did not want it. He pretended he did, and then he ducked. Deal with it.
Ward fight cancelled. (Just as billions of flights get cancelled every day due to injury) Go straight to Canelo fight.
