a complete and utter flop for Bob Arum. Which is good. Old **** deserves to get ****d in the wallet. As long as the fighters got paid, thats all that matters.

I hope it flopped.....one of the most pointless rematches in a while. Then again pacquiao loves fighting pointless rematches. Which is why I give zero credit.

then i guess mayweather-berto was a much bigger flop, given floyd's bigger guarantee.
        and also may-guerrero.

Actually Bradley's guaranteed take was $4mil. After that he could get ppv upside which there won't be. Pac on the other hand gets $20mil plus ppv upside which there is none so yeah this a flop. Don't forget the purse bid for Abraham-Ramirez was over 1.5 mil and that has to be paid for. Don't go by the NSAC purses. That only includes what has to be paid on fight night.

If the guaranteed numbers ($26M for Manny & Tim) are correct & the speculation on the PPV numbers (400k-500k) are correct this fight was for sure a flop & lost TR money.

I'd contend the guaranteed numbers aren't as guaranteed as we might believe cuz I don't believe Arum to be a dumb guy who's throwing Manny $20M for fights that don't get 500k buys like 3 outta Manny's last 5 fights.

From what I remember it's $7M guaranteed for pac with share of PPV, which adds up to a minimum of $20M and a max of $25M. It's $4M guaranteed for Bradley with a share of PPV, with a max of $6M.

I'd guess they got the minimums, so 20+4=24. Add in undercards, which is another ~2-3 mil and you have $27M in purses.
Estimate gate @ $15M and you get:

              Gate +$15M
              PPV +35M (70x500k)
              PPV network share -$17.5m
              Arena -$2M
              Marketing Budget -$2M
              Purses -$27M
              -----
+1.5M profit... assuming there are no other costs I missed, which usually happens.

I wish we'd stop trying to figure out exact amounts

The reality is, none of us know what revenue streams (either way) and payments are involved with a fight. This information is just not for public eyes.

I think Arum is clever enough to know what he's doing. He's been around the sport for so long and is still one of the top promoters.

The purse bid was won by Sauerland, to get the rights to stage the fight Arum probably had to put up 2M$, or he struck a deal with Ramirez.

That's why I don't take any number seriously when it comes to Pacquiao's fights. Cunning Arum would probably say it did a mere 100K if he can get away with it.

                      Estimated gate at 15M$? Really?
                      Pacquiao-Bradley I gate was 8,963,180 $,
                      Pacquiao-Bradley II gate was 7,865,100 $.
