Arum is sick, he is trying to con Manny into signing a new contract with the false promise of a Mayweather rematch

I'd tend to agree but one thing that we've seen time and time again in this sport is promoters ability to exploit the fact that we all have a tendency to jettison facts in favour of a good story. A coherent narrative that 'feels' right often trumps logic and factual evidence. So Manny lost The Fight of the Century 'cause he was hindered by a debilitating rotary cuff injury. Given a level playing field he can attain redemption! . . . Who doesn't like the sports drama of a little man coming good against the odds?

It's all bull**** of course. Pacquiao was never beating a counter puncher of Floyd's calibre. I know that no two injuries are exactly the same but I've carried a rotary cuff injury for years and whilst I can get a shooting pain and weakness from picking up a kitchen utensil its never once effected my ability to throw punches. As you say the first fight was two past prime fighters cashing out. Casual fans didn't now what they were buying. Hardcore fans were desperate for the fight so suspended any critical thinking to be a part of the circus. It all left a very bad taste in the mouth in the end and was damaging to boxing.

I'd like to think that people wouldn't swallow it a second time but sadly that isn't consistant with what we see happen over and over again. Punters quickly forget and come back for more easy to follow story time. That's partly why the sport lurches from one sorry spectacle to another whilst decent fights go largely unheralded.

Hey Spoon, would you rather be "green" or to have witnessed Pacquiao beat Mayweather? Answer honestly, now.

Now that's something you will never see in your lifetime. I feel extra joy every time I have to think about how damaged you are due to all of this. Get used to seeing life through those tears welled up in your eyes, homie. And keep those tears coming!

Easy paycheck for Manny, too. No he won't get near as much cash as Floyd, and yeah he'll almost assuredly lose, but he'll get to cash in another mammoth check and leave that fight without so much as a scratch on him. Just like he did in their first fight.

What's Manny's floor on this as far as a purse goes? In the neighborhood of 50 mil? Pretty sure he'd gladly take another boring, nondescript UD loss where he doesn't get hurt once in 12 rounds for that

It's got to be an 85-15 split this time or no fight. Showtime televises exclusively, no joint PPV.

85/15? Lol than Manny should just stay retired. Or go fight somebody else. Manny's still one of the biggest draws in boxing. Dwindling numbers and all. I mean how many PPV fighters even exist in the sport? You can count them on one hand.

If I was MP, anything lower than 65/35 I would just say thanks but no thanks.
