This fight is not happening. It already happened, Manny had his chance and he lost. People need to quit with the excuses and move on with life. Floyd has more money than he needs in multiple lifetimes. The win was convincing that no one cares to see it again. Manny needs money a whole lot more because his career has been poorly managed by arum and all the leeches around him.

LOOOOOL that article is legit hilarious.

"Fight is 50/50 to happen........biggest obstacle? Their both retired".

Wtf math you use to come up with a fight is a coin flip to go down, but both cats are retired? I think someones calculator is broke.

He isnt cut from the same cloth as those guys in my opinon. He has his own legacy and he should be happy with it. Him and Paq need to move on along with the rest of there fans who havent.
            #09 – Floyd Mayweather (49-0)

Floyd Mayweather is a divisive figure, to put it lightly. For his legion of devoted fans, he is nothing less than the greatest fighter in history and, presumably, the greatest welterweight, too. For those that seek to undermine him -- due, in many cases, to personal disdain for one of boxing’s more unpleasant characters -- he belongs nowhere near the top ten welterweights in history. This being the case, I’ve endeavored to stay away, as far as it is possible in this entry, from opinion. I’ll deal in fact.

Floyd Mayweather defeated more ranked welterweight contenders than Thomas Hearns (rankings by Ring/TBRB). He defeated more top five contenders than almost anyone outside the top ten, aside from the likes of Jackie Fields – but Fields also lost to a handful of welterweights. Mayweather was unbeaten.

Mayweather defeated more welterweight lineal champions than Barney Ross. Working by the scorecards of the judges he was, for the most part, in non-competitive fights at the weight. He made a past-prime Manny Pacquiao, his #1 contender at the weight, look like a journeyman. He defeated more #1 ranked fighters (champions or top rated contenders) than all but the most storied of fighters. He boxed only three unranked men at the weight...

Outside of the ring he was an arrogant, loudmouthed, woman-beating bully bereft of class. Inside the ring he was a genius.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, some insiders are thinking about him in that light already.

He is at least as skilled, his boxing IQ is at least as high, AND he is at least as well-rounded, as any of those guys you mentioned.

That doesn't mean Mayweather would have beaten those guys, but it puts him right in that conversation.

Im not sure about it, notice the I dont think part that you didnt bold. My opinion is based largely on me being young when the SRL, Hearns and Duran were going at it so Im probably still a little in awe of them but Floyd has never moved me like those guys did in a fight. The general consensus may be 180 degrees from my take on it. Im ok with that.
