Comments Thread For: Khan Hopes He Has Inspired Other Fighters To Take Big Risks

Amir Khan hopes his decision to challenge Canelo Alvarez encourages fighters to take more risks in their careers. England's Khan (31-3, 19 KOs), a welterweight who has been stopped in lightweight and junior welterweight bouts, technically has moved up two weight classes to fight Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) for the Mexican superstar's WBC middleweight title May 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (HBO Pay-Per-View).

It might do the opposite when they see you get beheaded by Canelo

This is just a weird matchup. Even if they were holding titles in the same weight class, it would be a "Huh?.... okay" kind of match up. Whos the face? Whose the heel? Mexico vs UK?Pakistan? Uh...

      The storyline is nonexistent.

I'mma be real, this is no big risk at all..dude has nothing to lose...if he loses it is expected and he just moves back down and continues with his career..if he wins he hits the lotto..A big risk would have been Brook, Thurman etc because a lose would have been a huge setback. Khan literally refused to fight all the top ww's and sat out hoping for a big money fight and ignoring all the high risk low reward fights.

I 1000% agree. Khan will look good in the fight dancing around and working his jab but he's gonna get caught eventually. And if he gets hit like Kirkland did??? Just like when EVERYONE thought JMM killed MANNY!!! Khan could die from a hit like that.

And this is why Amir is the most delusional guy in boxing. Most of us are expecting to see a pile of goo in the last place Amir was standing on May 7 when Canelo hits him square on the jaw & Amir has expectations of being the Tony Robbins of boxing.

Khan is the most hated fighter on Boxingscene. I, for one, hope he pulls it off.

dunno why people are bashing khan for this

                    shouldn't you be bashing canelo?

canelo was supposed to unify the mw titles with ggg in the biggest fight of the year and instead plucked up some weathered 140 lber

cant pick on khan for stepping up
