    Buster Douglas
    Ray Mercer
    Joe Frazier
    Joe Louis
    Jack Johnson
    Sonny Liston
    Larry Holmes
    George Foreman

    Now some guys who aren't
    Anthony Joshua
    Deontay Wilder
    David Haye
    Kubrat Pulev (Fury ducked him)
    Luis Ortiz
    Joseph Parker
Johann Duhaupas (this is a long shot but stylistically he is all wrong for Fury)

And then we might be able to add Wladimir to this list but I'll wait for the rematch
Stopped at the first name. Fury would have far too much for the midget Mike Tyson. Must try harder.

      Agreed.

This isn't some ESPN fight night game where anyone that's a hw can crush another hw. Boxing is about styles but also about attributes and a 5'11 fighter can't easily get inside on a near 7 foot fighter at this skill level.

Fury has fast hands and would catch the likes of Tyson, holy and frasier over and over. The only legends you named that have a shot given the sheer physicality and strength of Fury are foreman and Holmes. Lol jack Johnson I laughed at that one.

Aj is also as big as the furious one too bad he's a plodder that would be bodybagged.

Personally I'd say right at top 25 based on his schooling of an atg heavy wlad which is something no one has ever done to wlad in his entire career. His sheer size makes him trouble for any hw of any era and he's got vastly underrated speed.
Good god, how long have you watched boxing? I mean fury just barely won the heavyweight title. He hadn't even defended it yet and now all of a sudden you think he ranks with the best heavyweights ever. Dude give it time. I think fury had talent and can be great one day. But he has to prove it in the ring and get his resume way up.

Beating an old Wlad isn't that impressive to me. There were guys years before KOing a young prime Wlad.

Anyone else tired of when a fighter gets a decent win(not a great one) and then all of a sudden they are the greatest ever? Let Fury clean out this weak era of heavyweight then you can start the convo of where he ranks all time on the heavyweight great list.

As of right now I don't rate him in a all time heavyweight great list since he just barely won the title and hasn't even defended it yet.

The Wlad that got stopped by Brewster etc wasn't a prime Wlad lol. The prime Wlad was the 12 year unbeaten champion.

Yes he's getting on a bit, but let not pretend that he looked like an old man in the ring. Physically he looked great. It was only a couple of fights previously that he knocked out Pulev in convincing passion and people were putting him in their top 3 p4p lists.

I thought it was widely acknowledged prime Wlad was 08-10 period, with his wins over the guys in that period I feel it eclipsed anything he achieved afterwards with possibly the exception of Haye if you're to appease the British and Americans on here who are only really interested in paying attention to the division when Wlad was facing a Brit or American.

Fury fans were stating before the fight November fight Fury was right to avoid Wlad in 2012 and in 2015 he had a better chance of winning and this was all great planning by Peter Fury, we were to acknowledge Peter Fury for masterminding all of this, apparently. Fury was in the presser himself saying 'if he couldn't beat a 40 year man he'd need retire, you look old, have you had botox etc etc ...... '

You appear to sound as though you want Fury to take the kudos for beating a prime Wlad, Fury would have had a better claim to that had he have fought and defeated Pulev and faced Wlad in 2013.

Bodybagged. We'd be reading your obituary.

The man has never been beaten and may never be beaten. We might be witnessing the most dominant hw champ since Joe Louis.
              Not quite ATG nor GOAT....urity

Imagine Fury against the 90s era heavys.

                Damn

We'd be calling him a legend by now. The only one that stood a chance is Lennox and he never came close to fighting a giant with the hand speed of the furious one.

He'd stop Tyson, widely decision Holy, retire Bowe and that's just the elite. The Moorers, bothas, young vitalis of the world all get bodybagged.

Wlad avoided Fury for years, but it doesn't matter really, Fury would've beaten him regardless of how prime he was, Fury is just all wrong for him.

If any shorter fighter could knock out Fury it's Tyson. Tyson specialised in landing fight-ending shots to taller fighters. Look at the number of times he caught taller fighters with overhand rights. He had a vicious leaping left hook as well (see Savarese fight).

Fury of course is on a different level to many of Tyson's victims, but he does leave himself open, and against a fighter as vicious and proficient at landing fight-ending shots as Tyson there's a very good chance he gets caught at some point.

I hate to bring up the Cunningham knockdown but I can easily see Tyson landing a similar shot and dropping Fury for the count. Fury would need to fight the fight of his life to avoid getting hurt by Tyson and I'm not sure at this stage that he has the ability avoid a tear up against an aggressive, come forward fighter.

Holyfield and even Frazier were beasts who could definitely give Fury problems despite their lack of size. This isn't Wlad we're talking about. Fury has shown he can fight a disciplined fight to his strengths but he also shows a tendency to showboat and get ****y which would cost him big time against either of those two. Watch what happened when Lennox dropped his hands against Holyfield in the second fight. Or Mercer.

Styles definitely make fights, and I'd pick Wlad over Fury in either of those two matchups.

It is common knowledge Fury avoided Wlad in 2012, avoided WBC fight offs which would've led to Vitali, and IBF orders which would have brought him on course with Wlad two years earlier.

Fury was shook at the thought of facing either Klitschko and never believed he'd beat either, thus the reason he signed the rematch clause. It's widely accepted by everyone bar Fury horn blowers.
