Tyson Fury vs prime Ali

Ali won't land as often as you think. How would he get to Fury? Here you go with this garbage again. Finesse? Accurate? Fluidity? None of that applies to Fury. What Fury does is use his size advantage verrrrrry well. Vs a prime Ali that size advantage won't be enough. Ali's combinations put Furys lights out in the 11th with Ali well ahead on the cards.
If he tries to work his way inside, Fury would rip into his body with savage hooks and drive him back mercilessly. If Ali tries to box from the outside and use movement Fury would pull up a desk, sit Ali down, and give him a thorough boxing lesson. A hellacious beating from pillar to post. Fury uses his size and height advantage well, yes, but he is also a slickster and a ring general. Ali is a beaut when he lets his hands go and he is intelligent enough to adjust and often, but Fury would be slipping and rolling most of his shots and thus creating openings for counters.
How long does Ali's chin hold up? How long does his will hold up? Does he have the heart to keep lifting himself off of the canvas again, and again, and again? These are the questions that I ask myself.
Fury is poetry in motion. Everything he does is controlled and coldly calulated. I think you are the one who needs to go see the optometrist. Then you could rewatch the fight and learn something.I won't even respond to you 'cos I think someone did that for me already. But if you see those qualities i.e. fluidity, accuracy etc in Fury, then you need to visit your optometrist asap 'cos you need the strongest eye glass prescription possible.
And as for Fury stopping Ali, you must be high as a kite.
Fury is a master boxer. A tactician. A savant. An instrument of war. An apex predator.
It will take a while before we see the kind of fighter with the potential to dethrone the kingpin. A fighter that complete, that limitless, that devastating only comes around every few eras. We are blessed to be exiting Floyd's reign and entering Fury's.Comment

Dude, I think you should get out of here as soon as possible. I was going to respond to other posts here but I see the qualities of the responses and I quickly realize what you have in here are trolls or clueless ones who have no idea what the art of boxing entails. Fury, Wilder, Joshua being compared to the greatest or even given a shot to beat Ali is all I need to see. Joshua is as green and raw as they come, right now. Wilder hasn't fought anyone of note and Fury in my opinion right now, ranks in the top 5 worst heavyweight champion ever, who won the title 'cos the other guy was too timid to throw a punch. Some idiot even said Ali is no better than Steve Cunningham and Fury beat him so he would handle Ali easily. Really? This people only know boxing based on what they see in today's world or what they read on the internet. No need to rationalize and debate these guys, they don't know the angle you are coming in from. Wlad, "no chin" dominating the era tells you all you need to know. The blind leading the blind.Dude did you even read what I posted? Can you comprehend what I wrote because if you can I said there is no way that today's heavyweights cab compare or run through heavyweight greats of years past.
Go back and read what I read before you give me some lecture about trolls.Comment

Sugar Ray Lenrd:
Bull....! Ali can easily get inside because he is too fast for Fury. Even an old Ali is faster than Fury (of course not the one that fought Berbick & Holmes). Ali would simply be able too applied the double "avoid jab" to d head and easily followup & land the straight-right, followed by a one-two,hook right to d head like a charm. Fury has good head movement for this era, but in Ali's era his head movement sucks. Fury is not athletic as Ali. Fury's fight against Wlad was terrible to say the least. A bad performance by to Heavyweights

Sugar Ray Lenrd:
Ohhh Ali can box from the outside, you are forgetting the main reason why Ali woulda wiped the floor w/him from the outside ...it's called "speed"! No no no Fury would not be able to slip & roll Ali's shots instead he will be pummeled by perhaps one of the best & fastest jab in the heavyweight divisions history
How long does Ali's chin hold up? How long does his will hold up? Does he have the heart to keep lifting himself off of the canvas again, and again, and again? These are the questions that I ask myself.
Sugar Ray Lenrd:
Zzzzz...huh? oh you still here? Do you realize that Ali was never knockedout, He did lose to Holmes by TKO, but really by that time he was attempting to comeback from a two year retirement layoff. I meant he was already suffering from mild parkinsons disease. In other words Ali should have never fought again. Ali also has one of the best chins in the heavyweight divisions history...ohhh I get it this is all a joke, you are just antagonizing me.

Once you take away Alis jab ,you takeaway the fight . Add into that Fury is a passive aggressive fighter , he could force Ali into being the aggressor which minimizes his effective defensive counter puncher style . A guy like Fury ,you need to hit hard to win because hes a bigger Ali and unlike Ali he can also fight on the inside .I cant see Ali remotly having the power to off set Fury or proper defence to avoid his 85 inch reach . Ali may be the better technical puncher but thats not enough were talking about a 6'9 giant with real foot work not a robotic 210 pound Ernie Terrell. Fury can also switch to southpaw ..Dont see how the k.o card is also being used, neither is knock out artist with just one punch, though I would bet money on the 250/260 pounder to hit harder than the 210/215 pound one.
Did anyone see the problems he had with 6'0 southpaw Mildenberger who was real slow and had no footwork?
6'0 190 pound Karl Mildenberger < 6'9 255 pound Tyson fury
"I know the name Karl Mildenberger might not strike fear in to many men’s hearts but he was a rough one for me to figure.
I fought him in Germany in 1966. He was a southpaw and I had a lot of trouble getting untracked against his style. He could box pretty well and whacked me with a few good punches. I didn’t get him until the 12th round in what everyone figured would be an easy fight." M. Ali
Do you really think Fury is an easy fight for Ali when a guy 9 inches shorter, much slower, cut easy and was about 60 pounds less and couldn't hit hard was ? Eventually I guess fans will start actually studying the fighters and not the once was,one would think with all the access of video footage and medium they would stop using the legend card, because its not a skill.....
Fury via decision win .Last edited by juggernaut666; 04-15-2016, 04:07 PM.Comment

Could you have made a bigger hash of that quote function, son?Ali won't land as often as you think. How would he get to Fury?

I've heard boxing historians (a synonym for retard, I've found) claim that Floyd Patterson would have beaten Wlad Klitschko before. There is no logical thought process that goes on in their minds. Just blind nostalgic fanboyism.Comment
