you know i would agree with you in anyother weight division but the hvw division filled with comedians like valuev,ruiz,toney and all the others plus having to put up with the hilarious standup acts of don king and arum adding to the circus atmosphere is all we can hope for at this time.Originally posted by NautilusPeter has not beaten a top 10 HW yet... Basically he will get a shot because he is an attractive opponent and very much beatable by anyone that can box.
Of course those behind Peter will say that he should be out there because in regards to Duva, Samuel Peter is pretty much the epitome of their stable and the division is there for the taking.
How many other heavyweights have gotten title fights for doing nothing?
Rate Peter or not, you still have to say that he has the goods to deliver an exciting fight, and that is what the division needs more than anything.Comment

Peter fought the best and came up short. He needs to make a fight with a second tier top HW and beat him before he gets a shot again. He needs to beat Brock or a S. Ibragimov. Or even a Barrett or a Williamson. Then he's right back into the picture. I think Duva is making a mistake rushing him back into a fight with Wlad again, anyway. I think he'd lose again and then who wants to fight a losing HW as big and dangerous as Peter is? Duva would have a mess on his hands trying to get fights for a young fighter. Not to mention the beating Peter is likely to take AGAIN. It's the wrong move and could totally ruin a promising young fighter's confidence, and crack his chin in the process. I understand he's about $$, but he needs to think about his fighter's future and not his immediate cash flow. Peter is already a dangerous fighter, but he can be lethal if he continues to develop and is brought back into the picture smoothly. This is a rush job for cash. Shame on Duva.Comment

Truthfully, Peter should fight either Calvin Brock, Sultan Ibragimov, David Tua, or Shanon Briggs. If he wins one of those fights, he's earned a title shot, IMO.
