First of, let's make one thing clear. America has produced some of the best boxers to ever put on the gloves. In fact, America has produced not only some, but MOST of them. Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Suger Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield, etc., the list could go on and on for hours.
The thing is, I never support a boxer for nationalistic reasons. When I support Andre Ward, I don't care about him being American and when I support Arthur Abraham, I don't care about him Armenian/German, etc. I think people should support fighters for their skills and not for their nationality.
The question I have for American boxing fans is: when you show nationalistic support for your fighters, is it then a matter of you just supporting the home fighters or is it a matter of a general nationalistic tendency carrying over? Are you, in general, as proud of your country as you are of its great fighters?
America's history is one of stealing land from Native Americans, kidnapping black ******, nuclear bombing Japan, supporting zionism and killing ******s. The war in Mexico is even a result of the American people's obsession with drugs. I respect American fighters, but I don't respect America as a country and I think no one should.
